I still log on every day or so and just kill some time. Growing up as a 80's kid street fighter still holds that place in my heart but these greedy devs have ripped it out and tried to sell it back to me at a premium. The sheer amount of greed in this is crazy. It makes EA's lootbox fiasco look like a very small fish in a endless ocean. I am at 31-10 in my F2P and right now am noticing it's becoming more impossible to win

I hear you loud and clear Payne, I recently went back to my old game final fantasy opera omnia, and it's been like a breath of fresh air. So many F2P methods and the game has good fight mechanics, not just interrupts like sf duel

No joke, when I checked it out right after maint finished, I went in like Ace Ventura in the last scene with Einhorn. First reveal (ripping the shirt) was the $100 price tag. Then the final reveal (ripping the skirt), the "big ole Mr. KNISH!", was reading the text for the item needing TWO of them. I legit had Ventura's "HAHAHA!" in the scene cuz just can't fathom how fucked he possibly was (like we are with this game). Like, I'm glad you're finally speaking out so bluntly about the games state. I know you've been critical about it on videos and probably knew it or felt that way privately, but to hear it on a video is refreshing. I was pretty much at that point a while ago and now, I just play for personal agendas that include watching how fucked the situation can get, hence why I went in with the hilarity perspective. Even the TMNT event with SF6 has been a clusterfuck and any hype I had was IMMEDIATELY destroyed when I saw how expensive it is to get the costumes... fucking costumes.

I am covering Tower of God New World which has been generous but requires more dupes than SFD (so far going well tho), DC heroes and villains which can be completely F2P but it's a puzzle game and then one other which isn't out yet. I usually do Payne Plays Games series when new stuff comes out that I am interested in but haven't seen anything worth while for a bit

They already value 20 limited tickets (outside of the event) at $100. They also valued Master/infernal/Limited characters at $50-$100. To the devs this is a selector so it's a greater value. If you're a whale and you were buying limited tickets outside of the event to stock up. First you're an idiot... Second this is HUGE value. How much does it cost on average to SSS a limited character? If it's much Less that $1400 then sure, this is really bad value. That said, I spent 600 tickets and only get E.Ryu to SS. So imagine a whale with my luck 🤣🤣. This is for whales and something that the whales were probably asking for. Is it expensive? Yep, but is it bad for the game? Nope. It's good that they introduced a way other than events to max out characters, so now spenders can probably spend less (no fomo spending) or only need to go for a few copies. F2P weren't going to buy it anyway so we don't care about it 🤣🤣. They released a new item, it costs a lot of money at first, and they'll probably eventually give it away for free as event rewards or make it cheaper down the line. This is pretty much the Gacha cycle, and to me not worth getting upset about. Especially if it's a product not catered to you. I read an article once that Gacha devs will sometimes make items that cater to only a few people, because they know they will buy it.

I appreciate your take on this matter because when I saw this bullshit when they dropped it, I was highly disappointed in the game. It has become so pay to win that you can barely enjoy the progress you are making because the more you progress as a f2p character, the more p2w it becomes and I am so irritated. The problem is that the chaotic stars should have been a fix for an already existing problem. That is that they've changed too many characters to be infernal and faction so they're reliant on divination tickets and that means there is not enough div tickets to progress characters normally compared to the way the game was originally designed in other regions. Now they go and make it a pay to win thing and that is pretty bad because it doesn't even rank up a character without needing two of them. My hopes for the game is limited with these developers unwillingness to be fair with the players.

On the business end that you guys don't see is data on these kinds of games. They know exactly what they're doing. None of these companies target customers are F2P. You guys should all learn to accept that. If you can't, you should leave this genre of games altogether. Whales/dolphins account for the majority of the profits. Whales go through content at an exponential rate faster than F2P. Whales will spend 100k in a few months. F2P will never ever spend that ever. The game exists because of whales. That's the reality. I agree that chaotic star is done poorly but I don’t think it’s as bad as how u think of it personally, tbh I’d rather buy a copy of a unit essentially rather than spend the same for 45 tickets or less in the further packs for special summon tickets and be more likely to get shafted. At least I’m garunteeing to get the copy. Only in the case for special summon unit before SSS cuz you’d have to buy those overpriced Special summon tickets. After sss the poison packs for div tickets is much more worth to acquire copies compared to that one chaotic star

If you look at the pack to the right of the chaotic starlight, you will see same price, same amount of gems and one A unit....with the addition of 40 div tickets which are not there in the chaotic starlight pack...The chaotic starlight pack is bad from all angles, even if you consider it a reasonable price, it's still bad in comparison to the Vega and A Chun pack😂

Hey bro so I'll tell you some reasons why this is really bad. 1) they are setting a precedence here saying that each A unit of a limited faction costs 150 bucks. Take away the 6.8k gems then let's day even 100 bucks. So to get MH Ken for example from A to SSS+5 you need to spend 2k+ on a unit. In what world do we live where in a game where a 6 person team that one unit should cost that. 2) it's the psychology behind it. They know many people stopped at sss for collab units and they created a system where sss+2 is necessary and then introduced another system to spend obscene amounts to reach said rank to get access to another p2w system. The mental gymnastics behind this is wild. They put these in "top picks" as well to lure new players to spend thinking this is the best deal. There is NOTHING good about this. I can go on for days
