Thanks so much for watching and for your kind comments! :) There really isn't too much rhyme or reason to my choice. But usually it is based on color-- if I have a certain color in mind when I begin, then I start with the medium that I know I have that color. For example, I knew I wanted Chipped Sapphire for the sky on this one so I just used the reinkers. Also, if I am going to be painting somewhere else, I find the Sakura Kois are easy to pack for traveling (even if it is just up to the living room in front of the tv!). :) Happy stamping! -Jill
