I have heard it said that going to bed early is the grown up’s way of sleeping in. I think the FOMO issue you cite is pretty real. In a way, it’s nicer getting just a little older (and wiser?) and realizing the bad consequences of a late night on the next day. Most of what we might “miss” is totally missable.

What are some of your thoughts on the effects of ice packs before sleeping on the muscles? Or any of those new trends on ice pack blankets to deepen the sleep? And thoughts on applying ice packs as a preventative approach to swollen tendons or micro muscle tears? Much appreciated

Rick Martin check out traditional Chinese medicine clock. It will focus on an area that is related to the time you are waking up repeatedly. And if you decide to go that approach moderation is key. Any over adjustment in diet can cause another imbalance

Waking at between 3 and 4 is common. Some science says you should read/study with a dimmed light until you feel tired again. As long as you sleep in 90 minute cycles each cycle is standalone 'complete'. It may be that in this life-phase you no longer need 8 uninterrupted crappy hours but rather 2 x 3 quality hrs... ?

I start work at 5am and have 2 young kids so on average im getting around 6 to 7 hours of sleep at night... thing is i make up for it on the week end but i often feel worse when ive had more sleep, i'll often wake up with a headache on one side of my head and just feel groggy and brain fogged all day... anyone know why or can point in the right direction? Thank you.

I believe getting the amount of sleep that your body needs is sufficient. I go to sleep on avg. at 9:30p to 10p and I awake between 4a and 5:30a. I typically do not feel groggy nor do I feel tired. If you are going to bed at a reasonable time, and your body wakes you up then I think you have gotten sufficient sleep for your body. Just my opinion and what seems to work for my body. Everyone is different.
