Starting at 13:14 he spends approx. 22 seconds to say that *many* bodily setbacks & inflammation involves Connective Tissue (fascia, cartilage, ligaments, tendons) not being supported by adequate intake of Collagen. Then, at 13:36 to 15:02 he talks about what can be combined (food-wise, supplement-wise) with Collagen that won't interfere with the *optimum* absorption and utilization of it. (Chiefly, don't mess around with other "amino acid" types of food, simultaneously, but it's OK to take it with healthy fats and "greens", I think. Listen to his words here, not mine -- which might be an incorrect interpretation of what he's saying.)

Make sure you have Vitamin C to create collagen plus copper.
@gentleoldmoviefan56802 жыл бұрын
I agree 100% about the Vitamin C, but be cautious about supplemental copper. (According to Dr. Thomas E. Levy and a few other experts who've looked deeply into it. Copper is a complex subject.) Vitamin C, however, is much less likely to cause any mischief in the body, IMHO, even at very high dosages. High quality powders and liposomal are both good, but only go for the very highest quality of liposomal, because of how much fraud exists (on that particular form of it, being genuinely liposomal). I wish there was 3rd Party testing, for genuine liposomal -- but I rather doubt that exists yet.

17:19..collagen doesn’t build muscle or sustain life??
@tonyneillaw5 жыл бұрын
Because the amino acid profile of collagen ( high in glycine, proline and hydroxyproline) are more specific to connective tissue and articular cartilage rebuilding, rather than muscle building. Therefore, you can't sustain yourself overall on collagen the way you could on whey protein for example. However, collagen will aid in joint recovery the way whey protein won't.

Me and my father had a big problem taking collagen supplement powder. Made us both very irritable, moody, and down over time. I read up on it and it doesn’t have tryptophan like other complete proteins like whey, with all the necessary amino acids. Tryptophan is needed to create serotonin. Maybe we would of been better adding the collagen to whey, when we were taking it we took collagen alone. But I won’t be messing with collagen regardless, too risky. I’ll stick with pasture raised eggs, grass fed beef and maybe whey.

If your boys are kids they do not need to take this as a supplement at all. It helps to do some research before giving anyone any type of supplement. Children's bodies make significant amounts of collagen. We don't start loosing collagen until about 25-30 years of age. This is where they can begin taking it, but if your giving this to children it can cause more harm than good.

Hello Mark, I have a very important question for you. I was eating a whole food plant based diet and only ate very little meat when we would go out to eat and that was rarely. No dairy or eggs at all. I had my blood work done and expected it to be amazing. On the contrary, my cholesterol total was 215, triglycerides we’re in range 110, my HDL was 53 but my LDL was 140. The only fats I ate was very little avocado, very little nuts n seeds. Very upsetting. My question to you is, is it safe for me to go Keto with my LDL so high and do I have to eat so much fat? Does Keto cause your blood pressure to go up? Thanks for your time.

Rita Swenson do it for sure. I hardly ever eat carbs, instead eating as many eggs as possible and my cholesterol levels are amazing. I eat meat at least once a day as well.

Your LDL is not high. Doctors do not understand that LDL is needed and not a reason to promote statin drugs. Watch Dr. Berg for more information. I eat 3 eggs a day and am on a keto diet with IF. My total chloresterol is 215. If you are taking vitamin D3 with K2-7 and omega 3's then your arteries are probably in good shape, The only way to know for sure is with a CAC test.

Wouldn’t our ancestors have consumed collagen along with other meat proteins? Why is it better for us to consume collagen without other proteins?
