Has anyone noticed Chris Barnes looks like Norman Osborne and has the same color scheme as Green Goblin. It is like pure coincidence.

I would just like to say I think it's great that the PBA is posting the shows on youtube. Thanks. (I have XtraFrame but no cable/satellite TV.)

I think pba is a bunch of lowlifes for charging people to watch what was free
@ProffessorJoe10 жыл бұрын
***** What was free? The show? Espn is not free. You need a cable provider, which costs a ton more than xtra frame. If people/sponsors would actually support the pba, maybe xtra frame could be free too, but sadly bowling is not doing nearly well enough right now.

Ball weight is a definite factor for pin reaction and flushness, but in the end it depends on the bowler what they are comfortable throwing. Instead of buying a new ball, I went back to my old 16lb wine rhino and had it re drilled with finger tip inserts and over the past year I've had 4 perfect games going into the 10th frame and choked each time. One day I'll get it. Happy bowling, let's keep this game alive.

I do not agree with randy at all on his comments about ball weight. 14 pounds just wont cut it? Come on, 15 is the minimum? Really??? I started out with a 12 pound tZone that I ended up getting a consistent 208 average with, sure that is on a house pattern but still. I now have a 14lb strike king and that has plenty of push and power, its more about the shot you make NOT the ball. He should know this.
@clarda110 жыл бұрын
***** I agree. I could use a 16 pound ball but I used to play 12-20 games a day, 16 pounds wore out my arm after awhile, Went to a 12lb, carry was good, when my shots were good. The 14 pounded has slighter better carry on the light hits and I am still able to play 12 games without getting worn out. You are correct, the shot matters more than the weight, like I said in my first comment. Randy seems full of himself, after watching the whole thing he says that 14lbs is not enough, then he says basically what we just said, then he goes on to say that 14lbs is too light once again saying it has to be "special ordered" sigh....

randy is real nice but 14 pounds maybe even 13 can still hit just as hard as 15 pounds

I think that your statement "sure that is on a house pattern" is key. A house pattern gives you much more opportunity to get a solid pocket shot. Nobody can argue that a 14lb ball at 15mph dead in the pocket will shred the rack violently. Because of the difficulty of the various pro patterns, getting your ball to bury in the pocket is tough for even the best pros. When you are a pro, your income depends on pin carry. Taking into account energy alone it is easy to figure out how speed and weight relate, E=MC^2. With everything else equal, a 14lb ball at 17.1mph has the same energy as a 16 pounder at 16mph and you can get that same energy from a 13lb ball by throwing it at 17.75mph. So you can match the energy of a heavier ball by a small increase in the speed of a lighter ball. Going back to my original argument, everything else is rarely even. Revs, lane conditions, ball cores, cover stock and the angle the ball hits the pocket can all affect how the pins move when the ball hits. Personally, even if I had the accuracy of Walter Ray, Norm Duke or Pete Weber, I would agree that dropping to 14lbs is pushing the line.

Michael Timmerman thank you michael for explaining this as i did not want to type that much to explain it. a 15 pound ball being the most commonly sold also has the most diff./rg potential of any weight ball. the ball designers do this because they want the most popular weight to have the best effect. that is why alot of players moved from using a 16lb to a 15 lb ball when the core and coverstocks became more prevalent. 15 lb allows for the maximum core strength. BALL WEIGHT DOES MATTER. also like michael said.... a house shot allows for funneling toward the pocket meaning a ball 5-10 boards off target still may reach the pocket because the oil is spread in a way that allows for roll toward the 17th board (Pocket).
@clarda17 жыл бұрын
Jayden Divelbiss 208 actually. I used to work at a bowling alley and could bowl for free whenever. It's easy to be consistent when oil patterns don't matter. That was also on real wood lands.
