Basically he's saying he was doing well and loved being with his family UP UNTIL he rejected Islam and they rejected him and he was forced to become homeless for 2 yrs before eventually fleeing due to all the persecution. Isn't this the story of many refugees seeking asylum who were forced to leave their country only after some kind of imminent threat though they loved and still miss their homeland and their people??

I come from a Christian background, and was raised in an Orthodox household. Robert and Rashid did no service defending Christianity. When Patrick asked "Who or what is the enemy of Christianity?", the answer they provided was quite pathetic, if I'm being brutally honest. I felt like they were representing secular liberalism, more than the religion itself. With that being said, the podcast was amazing! I'm so thankful to PBD for doing this, and I'm looking forward to another one like this. I hope he brings Mohammed Hijab, and also a Christian and a Jew who are of the same caliber as Mohammed.

Very well said my brother. Appreciate the sincerity. Just to clarify, these critics can't even be termed as traditional Christians or someone from whom you can take your faith as a Christian. Their arguments against Islam are out of emotion and dishonest at the very least. They keep making fallacies and quoting stuff out of context. At a point Rachid even contradicted himself( he said that he was very poor in morocco and thats why he came to America, but later contradicted himself by saying that it wasn't economics which made him leave morocco as he was very rich.) If you'd like we can further discuss what was said in this podcast at your convenience on some other platform. May God guide us towards the truth and allow us to be sincere

The thing that confuses me about Christianity is when they say that "Oh we don't adhere to the laws of the old testament because things have changed and so God changed his position on the laws that apostates should be put to death", when interestingly in the book of numbers chapter 23 verse 19 it CLEARLY says "God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that HE SHOULD CHANGE HIS MIND. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil." It is outstandingly clear that the new testament is not the religion of Jesus (PBUH) whatsoever! But it's the religion of Paul! As someone who has found religion again recently and gotten back into Christianity, this was amazing. I have to admit, these Muslim scholars are impressive and made some really good points. I'm very open minded religiously and one thing I really respect about Islam is "it is the way it is", no bending of the rules to include tolerance of mainstream culture which it seems like Christianity has fallen to in many ways. I see too many "loose" Christians but many truly dedicated Muslims.

(And capital punishment can be carried out when necessary according to Romans 13:1-7 and Romans 1:18-32) The point isn't final law or not (the time, place, etc.), we know laws change, it's about if it is "inherently immoral". On the point of the old covenant, not everything was ruled out. There were specific things that were named to be changed, but this does not mean everything was out of the window. In fact, many early Christian groups when gaining government power and leadership did implement capital punishment for apostasy, blaspheming, etc.

The last sentence you stated ( although there was never a period, so let's say the last 2 lines?) It is all about the difference in personal values. Just because you are socially stable doesn't mean that the society is "good". The stalinist regime is a testament to that. Society there was incredibly stable , but the lack of thought diversity eventually led to its downfall. My argument would hold the same for any leading philosophy or religious doctrine. There is no certainty in this life and to hold something as 100% true is dangerous and leads to group think which so far has proven to be inherently bad

Soviet Union became a failed state, but it was never a failed society, they still produced great art, scientific discoveries, were massively industrialized, were dominating all sorts of international sporting contests while continued to privately practice their faiths and followed conventional family values. All of that wouldn't have been possible if their was degree of freedom to express opinions and exercise alternatives. Society in Eastern Europe was\is still stable while the Soviet Union came and gone. Presuming there was lack of diversity in the Soviet Union is nothing but lazy and flawed Western liberal analysis rooted in the supremacist premise that "Western civilization" is superior to everything else. I would much rather have a stable society though, unstable society, like the ones we see in the West which can't even honestly describe what is a woman in a certain and non-stuttering manner, only produces chaos and confusion.

@@sphinxphoenix3426exactly! Islam's emphasis on preserving the social cohesion and biologically rooted human values can't be ignored. But the critical outsiders see or want to see Islamic socio-political system as a dito copy of any authoritarian system (maybe the worst of any totalitarian system) indulged in group think and shallowness of creative thought and endeavour. That's uterly bogus. On the contrary, Islam allows to challenge group think within limits using the paths that can ensure least conflict, destruction or even blood shed. Islam allows Muslims to protect Christians and Jews even against their own Muslim brothers when they are acting unjustly as a mob (Abdul Qadir Al jazairi protecting local Christians against Muslim mob is a prime example). Islam does allow progress of benifitial knowledge. Sunnah, the ways of the Prophet's companions and the Islamic history provides ideal archetypes for the diverse range of human personality types. I would like to clarify that the passages about apostates that Muslims read from the Bible are commands given to specific people during a particular time, not universal commandments. I haven't read the Quran, but from what I've gathered, it presents its rules as applicable to all Muslims to receive favor from God. This is not seen in the Bible. Additionally, traditional Christians believe that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Nowhere in the Bible does Jesus deny the Old Testament; rather, he encourages us to consider the reasons behind certain laws, such as those concerning divorce. I can elaborate on this if anyone is interested. Jesus loves you. Furthermore, when reading the Bible and studying Christianity, it's essential to seek knowledge and deeper understanding. This approach should apply to all historical and religious texts. With this mindset, the truth will reveal itself.

When asked "Who is the enemy?" the Christians gave their own thoughts, but when Daniel explained what is an enemy Jake just agreed because we're all on the same page in Islam. Daniel said they would kill the two Christians if they come into power, how can they be united? Also it's sad that the two Christians debaters where not equipped for this as it should have been thoroughly explained that the covenant of Moses was set for the Jews of that time who had a higher standard as they witnessed God and saw his power. Plus Jesus abolished the old covenant and set Christians on a new one so some of the laws do not apply to us unless they are stated so. Nothing Daniel said about killing apostates was right pass on to Christians, he just debated it well but it does not mean it was right scripturally. Anyhow this is how debates are, people should always be prepared and in this case the Muslims performed better even if it was not accurate.

I'd like to share my take on this conversation. I believe the 2 western Muslim men in particularly the convert, feel the way they do is because they grew up in morally decayed America. They're disappointed with modern loose Christianity, so they were drawn to the strict practices of Islam. Whereas the other gentlemen, more so the Moroccan man feel the way he does is due to growing up in a harsh environment. He is from a country who's government uses religion to oppress and persecute people. Personally the western Muslims come off as spoiled western brats who have never gone through anything close to as hard as the other gentlemen. But that's also me just being petty because mainland Americans piss me off lol. In all seriousness people of faith need to come together and fight the REAL enemy.
