It was hard watching you drill into that cav plate. 😱 There are other styles of drive shower, that don't require irreversible damage to install.

SIMREK is way better option, way more cooling water, and you don’t have to drill any holes into your stern drive. Go with SIMREK

Also ich habe die Wasserkühlung jetzt schon öfter gesehen, aber was soll das? Wenn die Mechanik wirklich zu heiß werden sollte hätte sich Mercruiser wohl selbst was einfallen lassen. Für mich ist das, zumal der Z-Antrieb im Betrieb sowieso immer nass wird und damit gekühlt wird, als wenn man einem Eskimo einen Kühlschrank verkauft.

Well....The top gets *VERY* hot when at speed; the water is down there, the top housing is high and dry; Merc does not care, the quicker the drive goes,the better for them,they sell parts; i've owned many boats,i'm a mechanic; i lean over the transom to feel the temp. of the top,when the boat is at sustained speed (on calm water!!) when possible,and it burns my hand... if a boat has no drive shower, especially on the Alpha One,Gen 1 (small housing) i slow down from full bore to idle speed every few minutes to immerse and cool the drive top,then speed up again,keep doing it like that.
