I always loved how he was the consummate professional! Never played dirty in the chute, never tried to maul a bucked off rider and waited patiently at the gate to leave the arena! A true gladiator and a gentleman to boot! I tip my hat to you, you’re truly the king of beasts!

What’s scary was that how calm Bushwhacker was. Just stood in the chute and just let the riders sit on him. Most riders get a feel how the bull is going to act when it tries to get them off when they first sit on him. But Bushwhacker just stood there, then became a force of explosive energy the millisecond that door opened. He was unpredictable.

I was there in 2016 for Bushwacker's final outing, and man, what a show the big guy put on. He was an incredibly big bull, muscular and powerful, but moved like a ninja, a thousand plus pound ninja. Really a sight to behold. It's a miracle anyone ever rode him at all. I hope enjoyed his last peaceful years, truly a magnificent animal and tremendous athlete. RIP Bushwacker, 6/1/2006 - 7/2/2024. Tell Red Rock and Bodacious we miss them, too.

The sport is truly dependent on both the bull AND the rider. Must have been some crazy, bored cowboys who created this sport. Remember, though, the bulls have a strap to make them buck and move. A great bull learns to get the job done and get back to being pampered. 😅

Just called my 87 y.o. friend who use to ride bulls. Bushwacker was one of his favorites. He saw him buck in person several times. He will be talked about as long as there are smart rodeo bulls and determined cowboys. The great ones live forever in our memories. We know he rests in peace!

R.I.P. BUSHWACKER! That bull was a monster in the arena but a puppy in literally every other category. He wouldn’t play dirty in the chute, you could literally stop him from leaning by simply pushing him with your knee. Never jumped the chutes, never did anything to attempt to hurt the cowboy before the chute was opened. I seen him in person after he retired and was able to scratch his head and back as he just stood there like a big ol dog. LONG LIVE BUSHWACKER!

You could tell BW's owner loved him and lavished attention on him. If ya read the video description ( under the video )........ Bushwacker was retired quite some time ago, and sadly, Bushwacker laid down, closed his eyes and passed away on or about July 6th of this year.........only 1 day before this tribute video was posted in his honor. According to the dates, he died only a week ago...........which was only 3 days before you posted your nice comment about him. Bushwacker was 18 yrs old.

I been watching PBR since its exception in the 1992. My father may he rest and myself loved the Bull Bushwacker. And others like Rango ,Astriod , and Smackdown. Those were World Champion Bucking Bulls. But Bushwacker was the best of them all. Rest In Peace Bushwacker. You will be missed.

I believe that Bushwacker's breeding was a .major factor in his athleticism, but I also believe that Kent played a huge role in his rise to the top. There was magic in the bond between Kent and Bushwacker. I don't know if that can ever be duplicated.

J.B on Bushwhacker was something special for me growing up. I was raised in NYC, PBR 10 year anniversary at MSG was my first event. Between watching J.B ride, and than seeing the bull bushwhacker, ive been obsessed and following the sport since. - just watching Bushwhacker preform for the first time ever, just learning of the sport, i knew that bull was special. Bushwhacker left an ever lasting imprint on me and made me a fan for life, as well as J.B too that night of course

there's some folks up the road that has some of the fattest, prettiest cows i've ever seen!!! beautiful animals, and for "company" the cows also have one of the biggest, most beautiful bulls i've ever seen!!! dang is he big and the way he stands you can tell he knows it!! i usually see him from a distance but once in awhile, he'll come closer to the road and he's even MORE impressive!!! bushwacker made me think of the folks up the road....

Oke thank you guys!! This was realy fascinating to see. I always like a dum dum thought the back rope was the thing that makes them buck. But he just stands there with the rope on not bothered by it. It's just triggering kicks when he's out bucking. Even when he's done and going back through the shoot he's not bothered but proud. He's just standing waiting ....knowing he wil het a chanse to get you as soon as those doors open. It seems to be a fair fight.... ❤

I watched all the fathers of these bulls and have some of them as belt buckles because that's how famous they were and it wasn't because they could throw guys off, it was because we all have hearts for animals we call pets and are parents of. They could care less if they are famous as much as the love they deserve from adoring fans. I know Bushwacker crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully and I hope he's kicking some ass up there in the pasture.
