I have made orange slices before, but not with all the tiny millifiori segments. That REALLY helps make it look more realistic. I like making mine with Transluscent clay, which also adds realism. Then to finish them off, I like to coat them with a shiny polymer clay friendly varnish. I will be starting to make miniature food for my dollhouse soon. But first I have to get my rescue puppy potty trained and settled into a routine. She is taking up most of my time these days. (If we can conquer potty training, she’ll be a fantastic dog. Right now we’re fostering and will probably adopt her. She’s 8 months old and has the coloring of a Pinscher or a Doberman but is only 30 lbs. Maybe she has some miniature Pinscher in her.) BTW, I’m so glad I have a dedicated pasta machine. It makes the job so much easier. I also have a dedicated toaster oven that I got from a resale shop. Polymer clay is SO versatile and fun. Any newbies will quickly become addicted, I’m sure. 😉🤣😀 Donna, I love YOUR clay for making canes. It holds its shape better than the softer clays, especially if you let it cool down before slicing. I would never recommend Sculpey III to anyone. Premo is good. I like Cernit Transluscent the best; it doesn’t yellow too much after it’s baked. Sculpey original and Living Doll are great for sculpting. If any of your viewers find their clay is way too soft, they can always leech out some of the oils with printer paper. Anyway, I love Kato Polyclay! I’ll be trying your technique for sure.

Hi Barb! Yes, translucent increases the realism of the cane, definitely! Varnish, too. Oh, puppy training! I have trained many puppies, myself. It's getting them to ask to go out. Good luck with your pup, I know she'll be fine. I hope we get newbies into the fold, we need newbies to keep our medium alive! We are so small. Thank you for the kind words about Kato Pc, I love it, too. Hugs, D

You might want to add "no pasta machine" to the title or the thumbnail. There are a lot of tutorials for citrus fruit already and it'll help set yours apart and beginners will be able to tell right away that they'll want to watch yours rather than someone else's.
