New information suggests the skip is not as precise as noted here. As the game is only 3 days old and new knowledge is constantly surfacing, be prepared for a lot of this to become dated fairly soon. I went to bed, woke up, and some of this has already been corrected or improved. Hopefully we can get proper testing tools soon to determine the exact windows for these tricks, just like we were able to do in classic BfBB. I did the warp on my first try the first time i got the game with no tutorial, its a really easy strat. This tutorial should help alot of people out, hopefully it gets more people into runs of the game.

Yeah it doesn't surprise me that it turns out not to be frame perfect. I feel like a lot of people throw that term around without verifying whether it is or isn't. To be fair, most of the people looking into the remake right now are fairly new to speedrunning it seems.

The coolest thing about the warp glitch is that, if you use it to warp you to the Chum Bucket, you automatically have the Cruise Bubble and Bubble Bowl moves unlocked. I'm guessing that's so you won't be trapped in the final boss level with no way to attack him.

Guys i just found a way to launch to the top of the tree in the tree dome! Stand in the hamster wheel and attack it, if you time a jump correctly, you can reach the top of the tree! And yes the top does have collision. Is it useful for the run... No... But it is a cool trick 😎. Edit: just made it to the middle of the tree!!! I also found out you can go higher if you bubble bounce after spining the wheel! If done right, it sends you going light-speed. I wonder if you can use the umbrella's in Goo Lagoon for the same thing?

nah, they should fix stupid glitches that let you not even play levels. any% just becomes boring if you can do it by not playing the game. like with sonic 06, any%(no game skipping glitches) will be the run to go for.

What I was referring to is that, anything like the infinite lasso glide glitch is unreliable (since that's an actual glitch and might get fixed, eventually). It makes speedrunning a bit more tense, but exploits a lot less rewarding/dependable. But the map glitch is just too game breaking to even leave alone lmao

So much this then, after all the effort Purple Lamp put into remaking BFBB from the ground up without much source material, its pretty much been ruined because they couldn't be asked to test the game properly meaning players can easily skip their work. I hope they patch this and the speed running community straight up bans this in the future.

In my opinion, being able to speedrun this game in over 2 minutes is a good way in order to beat the game faster and skip straight to the end however, it does negate the aspect of being able to perform different tips and tricks like in the original game to make it more worthwhile. Yeah, you can probably find glitches as the game goes on that will allow you to get Any% routes just with 75 spatulas however, as you can pretty much go straight to the game right from the start, it kind of makes everything seem pointless. This is a comparison from a terrible game but Spyro Enter The Dragonfly had such an easy way to skip to the final boss right from the start, it could be beaten in 1 minute. Also, the fact having checkpoints in the second phase does not help because the whole point of dying and reset back to the beginning makes it so you are being tested on the skills you have learned throughout the game and you are presented with a difficult challenge that will make you feel accomplished once the game is finished. I really hope a patch soon can address my opinion and make the game have a bit more substance

Hey Shift, so in spongebobs brain when there is two trampolines on the top of the level (where it loops around over and over if you didnt end spongebob yet), theres two trampolines you bounce on the first one then it leads to the second then bounces you the next platform, so basically you have to do a cruise bubble on the first trampoline then let go the cruise bubble on the second one, it'll crash the game, the second thing ive found is press ground pound button on the second trampoline, once you land it'll float you high into the air uncontrolably, i kinda just want you to show it off, ive tested these both and it worked again. (i need to edit a video on my channel if you want proof but i dont actually know how to edit videos well) btw i recorded it using obs just so you know.

I found a glitch in rock bottom. You know the first piece of art you find? Well collect that then warp back to the beginning the dialogue will play and Mrs Puff will give you a golden spatula

The part in kelp forest where you have to use the melon seesaws to get the camper can be done as spongebob. I didnt know if you knew this. Im not a speedrunner so idk if it would save any time. I just know the jumps are all makeable without the seesaws and melons Sidenote: the parts of the platform where they slope down to their lowest can be landed on with a two full A press double jump

Why do you guys call all these hard skips "frame perfect"? Let me explain what i mean: Some of your "frame perfect" skips have actually like 4 - 7 Frames room. How do i know? I was so curious, i wrote a script which pressed (as example) the a button twice on the same frame for the first skip shown in the video and ofc it worked, thats the point. But then i wrote the script to delay the second a input for 1 frame (and i delayed it up to 7 frames) and it worked just perfectly. The 8th frame worked too, but it wasn't consistend. I tried that in so many games, just because i was curious and in 12/15 games it wasn't frame perfect. So is this just a way to say that this is really hard or do i miss something?

This game is 3 days old. We know hardly anything about it, and the person who found it told me it was frame perfect. I'm just relaying the information on how to perform it so people can learn how to do it. The game is evolving so rapidly that during the time it took for me to sleep, wake up and upload this, the knowledge in this video is already outdated compared to the optimal strategies now. When you say "some of your frame perfect skips," you're gonna have to be more specific. Sounds to me like you just wrote a script to test this specific one, and found out that this one in particular actually has a larger window. Thanks for testing that btw! But don't group other games/tricks into your generalizations, because you're currently speaking about one that was just released and has a very shallow knowledge base :)

Speedrun tutorial where Shift passively aggressively roasts how bad and buggy the remaster is. I agree though we didn't expect them to make the game for speed runners but they made it almost anti speed runner with all of the invisible walls and all of the inconsistencies

I've only come across one buggy hitbox and maybe two obtrusive invisible walls that i can't remember if they were there in the original. The biggest issue ive seen so far a casual player would run into is some checkpoints having too wide a range which allows you to skip large sections by activating checkpoints and then dying.

The game is literally fine dude. I played it on Switch, seemingly the worst version, and didn't come into contact with a single invisible wall or any big glitches. There were a few bugs here and there, but nothing crazy. The only thing that annoyed me was the load times being so long, but from what I heard the PC version is much faster. The game is not as broken as people, particularly SHiFT, are saying. The game was not made for speedruns. They prevented skips and exploits present in the original game and thats a GOOD thing. As a casual player that wanted to relive my childhood, it was perfect. And thats exactly their target audience, NOT the speedrunning community.

Console tutorial: Click a place you have unlocked, press button to take the taxi then quickly pause, hover over the spatula u wanna warp to then hit the pause button again. Another method that ive found on my own. was Hovering over patrick spatula 1, pressing CIRCLE/B and DIAGONAL DOWN RIGHT TOWARDS THE CHUM BUCKET. and then PRESSING X/A twice immediately and it should say "Take the taxi to Chum Bucket Lab" However. if you press X/A to take the taxi here its simply just going to warp you to patrick, you're going to want to press circle/b instead and then press X when the taxi goes off screen and if you did EVERYthing right, you should see the taxi come up again IMMEDIATELY and then you take the taxi. Video is on my channel under "breaking a spongebob game" Its faster than the Pause method if you do it perfectly but however you cant get 1 spat with this method unlike the other.

Finally got the game myself and obviously first thing i went to do was try this, still works after all this time though i guess they removed the free bubble bowl and cruise bubble when entering the lab so i had to beat sandy and patrick first. either way its a great way to fuck with my steam achievements of having won with no spatulas
