I got the switch version of the game the other day, and so far it's left a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. The graphics look amazing, no doubt. The game is absolutely stunning, even on the switch...which is a problem. It feels like they put the exact same game that released on the PS4 and Xbox One onto the switch. Although that may seem obvious at first, there's a reason many games look not-as-great on switch, and that's because the switch doesn't handle high graphics well. This means that there are a lot of annoyances that come from that much load. Not only does coming back from dying - something that was instant on the original(and probably is still on the PS4 and Xbox) - take up to 30 seconds sometimes now, but there are also sections that stagger down to frame rates so slow I could probably spam a button at the same speed. The enemies and attacks also feel a little off - at least some of them. One of my biggest peeves is the Tar-Tar robot. In the original, there would be a loud siren before each barrage of tartar sauce, giving you plenty of warning and time in between to hit it. For some reason, the siren only plays when it notices you now, and the pauses in between are almost non-existent. If you hit it once and plan to hit it the second time immediately after, you're almost guaranteed to get hurt from an unforeseen shot. I don't really have a problem with Spongebob or Sandy in terms of move set. They feel perfectly fine to me, although I do feel a little cheated by not having to build up a swing on the grapple hooks anymore. It's convenient though, so it's fine in my opinion. Patrick, on the other hand, is very unsatisfying. He has two moves exclusive to him - throwing objects and stunning - both of which are flawed in complete opposite ways. His stunning move is a ground pound that stuns nearby robots so that he can throw them or destroy them easier. The only problem is that there's a *tiny* sweet spot in which the robot has to be for the move to work. A little too far, it's unaffected and attacks you before you can do anything else. A little too close, and you destroy them and have to wait for a new one to try again. His throwing move technically works perfectly well. You pick up things no problem, and you throw them no problem. My only issue with this is that they made it work a little too well in some cases, especially when it comes to platforming. The game has a target system to make throwing easier - if a target appears, you'll automatically throw it there. That's fine for most cases(buttons, enemies, etc), but when the game targets the platforms you're throwing to, or makes the fruit not bounce once it hits where it's meant to go, it feels a bit like it's holding your hand without reason. Though I do enjoy what I've played of the game so far, it definitely feels like it needed a bit more play testing to make sure some of the aspects felt right. If all of the controls were intentionally changed to make the game feel new, I could forgive that, but they need to feel good, and not like the game is either screwing you over or walking you throw the obvious parts. Along with this, it would help significantly to down the graphical power of the switch version, even if just a little. It may make the game look less stunning overall, but it would at least make the frame rate tolerable all of the time rather than some of the time, and would make the game not feel like it's on a PS2 disc every time it loads.

I have to point out that the rehydrated version seems to be easier than the original one. I haven't played the rehydrated yet, but I'm judging by watching game plays on KZbin. For example, the museum in Rock Bottom used to be impossible to pass with Sandy because of the robots that were almost at the beginning, but since Sandy is now able to lasso in mid-air it definitely makes it way easier; exactly the same thing for the final part of the trench of advanced darkness, of the same level.

Dragonball Haven -While the models are nice, sometimes they look a bit off and move a little stiff -The cut content of the old game wasn’t put in the game like we wanted, it was put in a lame new mode -Imo, it’s a little too bright in colors and doesn’t look exactly like the show -It doesn’t look very polished it could’ve used more time -They cheapened out by not having remastered music and re-recorded dialogue (Mr. Krabs could’ve really used it) -They changed what shouldn’t of been changed and didn’t change what needed fixing (which is kind of a problem with all remasters not just this one) Not a fault of the remaster but why was this remaster given to a studio that only had two games under its belt, it felt like this whole thing was rushed out the door for a quick buck and I’m so disappointed

I can't criticize this game too much, it went from having an already short development cycle that then got blindsided by the virus. The multiplayer mode was one last effort to put in the promised cut-content from the original, and in the rush, it was executed poorly. If the devs maybe spent a few more months on the game, this could have been a masterpeice.

I played the game as a kid and I loved it, but it was never really incredible. Like you said, it's not anything new for a collectathon platformer, it's just a good collectathon platformer. And to be honest, that's light years better than most licensed games can ever manage. I don't really agree with the "too polished" thing for the general look of the game, though I will admit that it is lame that they took out those little details you mentioned that gave it more personality. Honestly, for me, this is just a way to replay a fun game from my childhood slightly more easily or with better graphics, as opposed to an emulator or something. And I don't care about the multiplayer. Which, I can see, is a good thing.

The game glitched out and now I’m unable to get a golden spatula in Goo Lagoon, with Bubble Buddy at the sandcastle contest. Bubble Buddy just thinks I’ve already gotten it, but I didn’t even start the mission. It interrupted my flow of playing and it bothers me to have a missing spatula. I hope they fix this soon. Either way, I feel like the game has a feel of unpolish among its polish. I dunno, I thought the game released so quickly from when it was announced.

Hey some of the bugs in the original are either not possible in the engine they used or would've taken too much time to program like Cruise Boosting is an animation bug that was caused by the engine they used back in 2003 that being Renderware in this game they used Unreal Engine 4 the bug you tried to use would've taken too much time as they made it in I believe 1 year there are still a bunch of fascinating bugs in the Rehydrated version though.
