This may be a crappy game, but this game WAS Michiko Naruke's very first game she did for a soundtrack before she left Telenet in 1995 to work at MediaVision to do the Wild Arms Series for SONY.

@malducci Plus, there may be people out there in the world that appreciate someone else playing through, so they don't have to. I really wish someone would put all the music up in HD, because the music on the CD was excellent!

Those ship explosions were crudely lifted from Thunderforce 3.

PC Engine's CD drive was ahead of its time! Too bad it never caught on!

I remember playing this and hearing the incredible title screen theme. Then starting the game and the abysmal voice over and chip tunes kick in. I was stunned anyone would design the sound that way. Thank god you could record the red book audio right off the disc.

The entire game was awful, but it did have a certain flare to it. As though the developers honestly thought it was an amazing game.

@@droiduseruserdroid1731 This is what I find weirdly charming about a lot of bad Japanese games of this era and to an extent the 32-bit era: they could be terrible, but a lot of effort and care had obviously gone into them. It's just that the care and attention hadn't been directed towards the gameplay.

I can't believe this godforsaken game actually makes you play through twice to see the 'ending', just a damn staff roll. Well, it was my first pc engine game and it has a special place in my heart

This barely looks better than NES/Master System and even worse: bar the music this sounds like an Atari 2600 game! For real, WTF with all these PC Engine CD games with such AWFUL sound effects?! Some are even comical due to this like Sapphire or Golden Axe...
@Yuuretsu8 жыл бұрын
A lot of PC Engine game developers seemed to do this. The idea was probably that having an impressive redbook audio soundtrack would be enough to draw people in and sound effects would be an afterthought. I found it especially jarring in Sapphire because the soundtrack is great and visually it's probably the greatest PC Engine game there is. Seeing the visuals along with the sound effects I also understand why this game is only 10 bucks on eBay.

@@parallaxcraze958 Your so biased it's unreal😂 Why are you comparing 16bit to 8bit systems, and Sega CD system that was 3 years newer! Your beloved Mega CD would most likely never even existed if not for the foresight of NEC who were truly miles ahead of the game and why they destroyed Sega in Japan. Unlike you, I'm a fan of both, own and still play both, and most definitely not biased, and I can assure the PC Engine is a exceptional machine in gaming history and if I had to choose just one system, no contest, IFU-30 wins every time with ease.

WHY.. waste time doing a longplay of this crappy shmup, when there's plenty of better ones on the system to be done? >_>
