While I do think this is an improvement from the last few body armor systems we have had, this is still a step in the wrong direction.... Modularity is not at all important to a grunt. Comfort and weight are... (I don't mean modularity as in 'where can I put my pouches', I mean, that this vest shouldn't try to be everything at once...) We want a trim, light vest. No fucking soft armor. Give me level four plates, front and back, and give me the option to have side protection if required... And that's a whole other argument on it's own, since side SAPIs don't even cover your vitals, they cover your gut and lower ribcage... Speaking of covering your gut, stop making Marines wear plates that go down to their beltline.... just below the ribs is where they should sit... the JPC is a far better platform, and if you want side sapis, just design a pouch that will hold them... Not saying we need something that trim, but mobility is gonna save more lives than being weighed down with a bunch of armor. Ask any grunt.
@syndicate44174 жыл бұрын
Furthermore, or at least to elaborate, we don't need all of this bullshit we will never use... If you want LBE, make LBE... If you want a slim vest, take out the side plates... (assuming the vest wasn't already a hulking monstrosity...) but don't make everything into one, for something that someone is going to have to carry into combat, and only 20% of it was actually necessary to them,, because now they're just carrying weight that was meant for someone else, and could have been its own system.

You‘re a testament of the stupidity of grunts, you are aware that, without soft armor, the pressur of your plates will break all your ribs and kill you? Did you actually watch the video? 23% lighter than the current PC. over 40% lighter than the IMTV. There arent very many plate carriers that allow you to "properly shoulder a rifle". Maybe a plate bag or tactical sports bra like the JPC but enjoy dying by fragmentation because you arent a SEAL that only does 2 hr helo raids.
@andrewbarratachea4 жыл бұрын
@@mh3225 First Spear has better opinions than this. Theres also differernt companies that can do more for service members. That, and the ability to properly shoulder a rifle, should be priority for anyone in the service using body armor/ fire arms. You dont need to be a seal in order to use something thats more ergonomic for the shooter . The fact that specialized gear is only pushed to one specific group of any branch is barbaric. Give service members better equipment so they can all perform better. Ask any person in any branch who takes shooting seriously, and they will all tell you the same thing. Most issued carriers are bulky and imped mobility or fire arm maneuverability. Ever wonder why grunts go out and buy their own gear most of the time?.. there you go..

@@andrewbarratachea "first spear has better options than this". By what metric? In what way are you coming to this conclusion? Ive been to AFG, once to marjah, and did work as a contractor. I never had an issue getting proper sight picture with an eagle SPC or the PC. 99% of grunts will buy an AR500 chineseum vest and think its dope shit. @@mh3225 becuse this PC is literally the 2.0 version of whats already issued. Lighter doesn't mean less bulky. FS has other PCs that aren't as bulky in the areas that are vital. Lmao no ones calling you boot, if you like this shit you get issued, then cool. Others, like me have gone out of the way into looking other companies that can provide for what we needed specifically. Its a commonly trend now that everyone has the same complaints, bulky shoulder straps, bulky shoulder pads. Simplicity fits others better, which is also now becoming the norm. It'd be better for branches to have a set of different carriers, and let the user choose based on their body type/ mission requirements. I'm here wishing I had the older pc instead of these pieces of shits iotv. There's mf in here wanting stuff like crye when they know that stuff is reserved for the high speed guys, these carriers borrows designs from first spears, spiritus, and Mayflower so be happy. Also, laser cut isn't as fragile as you think and as long as you weave them properly youre not going to rip it simply by getting caught on a tree branch, you will need to be putting your whole weight plus attachments on 1 row to rip the damn thing, some laser cuts have reinforced stitching around the slits.
