GPU is so low wattage component, it works without any overheating with broken heatpipes! PS2 was broken before I started this. =)

BTA hey ummm sir, is it possible to put a PS2 GPU in a PC, like i have a low Graphic Card thats built in my PC and i can’t afford a good one right now, but i do have an old PS2 which i don’t use now. So is it possible to utilize its graphical components with a PC ????
@gator4733
@gator4733 6 жыл бұрын
Bilal Mirza sir bial it is not possible becouse the gpu of the ps2 its incrusted in the consola motherboard, and i think ps2 graphics are lower than your actual old graphics card

What people are trying to say I think is cutting the pipe was an extra step not needed. you could of taken a copper block and it would still passively transfer the heat to the sink. Yes cutting the pipe was probably not smart. some pipes only have cables inside of them and some have gas and liquid. it clearly looks like yours had the gases in it. at this point I'ts more for aesthetic looks than functionality. So all you did was turn it into a passive heatsink. even with the fans on the outside blowing in.

Hahaha :). Just finished backplate installation and been benchmarking for last couple of hours or so. MAX temps so far 79'c GPU. Still no overheating. Definitely this project would be happy with custom heatsink for GPU.
@justinfontenot3930
@justinfontenot3930 7 жыл бұрын
BTA yeah those temps aren't too bad for the gpu. they can handle heat a little better. man how are u going to go about power? a custom atx power supply with custom cabling or? if u can find a power supply PCB and fit it in that case with fans then hats off to you. I'm impressed a dedicated gpu fit.

Justin Fontenot I accually have picopsu fit inside, i think i showed that in one of the vids, or did i...? External power brick: Dell DA02 giving the wats needed, picopsu splitting the power.

An alright opinion to have. Personally I find it to be the console with most of my favourite games that I still play at least once a week. None the less, I don't like it when a piece of gaming hardware gets destroyed, whether I like the thing or not. They exist in limited amounts, after all.

BTA...impressive build...especially the CAD modelling..the 3d printing is excellent...if I had to guess-id say you're at Uni going for a degree...also I was less concerned with heatpipe cutting like other keyboard bashing viewers..I was hoping the ps2 at least had a failed laser..that would justify its disassembly....I use a ps2 now with hdd and mcboot for ps2 and 16bit emulation..good work..great video..thanks...specs

@wazbat1
@wazbat1 7 жыл бұрын
I cant wait. I'm doing something similar but still trying to get parts for it. I'm strapped for cash so I'm having to decide what to spend my money on: A) Main desktop upgrades B) Save up for a HTC vive C) Blow 400$ on the parts for this project. I feel a vive would be a gimmick though, so I guess I'm stuck deciding if I should buy myself a nice GPU (Currently on a GTX 950) or blow 200$ on pcpartpicker.com/list/4DWkwV and run the thing off intergrated graphics while I save up for things like a low profile cooler and a half height GPU, or mount it like you did with a riser. I'm also partially screwed PSU wise, as I'm fairly sure I cant fit a full sized ATX PSU in there, so I'm gonna need to find a high wattage ITX PSU, and those are around another 100$. Then that leaves 100$ for the rest of the accesories
