KZbin algorithm wouldn’t show you anymore. I just remembered “grab yourself a brew if that’s more your thing…”, then many years later, I typed “green man gaming”, nothing. You were lost to time and deep in the forgotten crevices of my memory. Then today, I thought, “what about green ham gaming “ it would be ridiculous to even think your channel was called that, right? Right. I have found you again. I’m glad you are alright, doing well. The rainbow colours of ghgtv were unmistakably there, as a rainbow over the horizon at the garden of Eden.

i had the same exact desktop. it got me through 1000s of hours of d2 and cs, and ended up dying after playing some cold war and i had to upgrade. i had some great memories with it and seeing this video reminded me how much i actually used it. i hate how much dell locked it down (can’t change ram clocks, can’t upgrade to any newer CPUs) but it was a tank until i decided to try overclocking it. I ended up giving it to my sister after trying to boot it up after a couple years and it just seemed to work now like it didn’t die on me when i put it away. it was my first(and probably my last) prebuilt

GHG videos will always perfectly capture the love and connection felt toward something you're passionate about, even if to most people it's an inanimate pile of metal. Everything has a deep and complex story behind it, and this is a great example of just how beautiful it is and how much it can mean to someone. It's been over seven years since I've discovered this channel and it has been my favourite the entire time.

i remember i started watching you in my high school days, now i.m finishing my bachelor degree for industrial design unknowingly you also studied industrial design. I also have ryzen PC that helped me trough rendering, 3d modelling, graphic design etc. This video brought me tears knowing that my pc helped me a lot and i mean a lot we have gone though hell together. Moving pc from home to dorm and vice versa was always a pain in the ass but knowing that when i place it on the ground end put him into u plug that will work every program that i have perfectly brought me a peace of mind. I have my PC around 3 and half years and i bought my first lap top a month ago and it feels odd like i'm cheating my wife or something. Often i come back to my PC just because it feels like home. Thanks for the video i hope your Ryzen PC stop smoking its bad for his cooler hahahahaha.

I am really glad with this upload of yours! I have been watching since 2015 and seeing a new upload nowadays feels like Christmas to me. Talking about computers though, I also had a Ryzen 7 1700 PC for a good while, my first good pc. I unfortunately had to retire it, because the motherboard malfunctioned and I needed a new computer right away at the time to finish two programming projects. The PC served me really well though and it even powered through my actor classes where I had to consantly edit short movies and it powered through me trying to go pro at Counter Strike. It was a powerful PC, I just wish it lasted a little longer. Now an i5-12600K is on its place and I hope it lasts even longer and powers through even more projects.

I like the simplicity of the content and the fact that the channel is about a man with a big passion that he wants to share with the world. The content is a reminder of the golden years of this platform when independent creators put out what they wanted to share with the world instead of celebrities with big teams pumping out new videos everyday. GHG videos are always worth watching. I have been around for about 7 years and I am still excited for every upload. KZbin today is considered a business instead of a passion for many creators and I miss how the platform used to be.

I built a PC with a Ryzen 1700X in May 2017 and even after 6 years it's still kind of a beast. Originally built it wit 16GB DDR4 2400, RX 580 8GB and kept the 500GB Samsung 850 Evo SATA SSD from my old Ivy Bridge PC at the time, it's since been upgraded to 32GB DDR4 2400 and a Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe SSD but the 1700X and RX 580 have never skipped a beat and are still going strong, using it right now to type this comment. It can feel a little slow, especially with Handbrake, but it genuinely doesn't feel as outdated as I thought it would by this point in it's life. I keep considering the idea of upgrading it to a Ryzen 9 5900X or even a 5950X but I haven't felt the need to tbh. To say the 1700X has been a good value is an understatement. I've moved most of my video editing tasks to a 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M1 Pro 10-core w/ 32GB of RAM, which seems to be the only machine I've used that is noticably faster and more responsive than my 1700X desktop. I've had several laptops during this time which include an i7-6820HQ in a 2016 MacBook Pro 15-inch, an i7-8565U in an EliteBook x360 1030 G4, an i7-1165G7 in a ThinkPad T14s G2, an i7-1260P in a ThinkPad P14s G3, and my most recent one has a Ryzen 7 5875U in a ThinkPad L14 G3 and none of them feel as fast or as responsive as my venerable old 1700X, might be a combination of things like SSD & RAM speed, and TDP limits, but a proper desktop is still hard to beat, even one that's 6-years old.

The good thing about the Ryzen machines was the amazing upgrade path. Most X370 and some B350 based systems could support all 4 generations of Ryzen 1.0 through BIOS updates. This includes the 1000, 2000, 3000 and 5000 series of CPU's (even the amazing 5800X3D). As for myself, I built my current PC back in 2019. It features a Ryzen 9 3900X, 32 gigs of RAM, 2.75 TB of pure SSD storage and a good old GTX 1080 Ti for graphics. Still a capable machine, enough to run most games in 4K. Those 12 core, 24-thread CPU's are amazing for setting up game servers on, as you have more than enough processing power to play games at the same time as you are hosting a server. The machine itself has been incredibly stable and good, and I have never had any issues over the 4 years of near continous operation. A solid performer I'd say.

My one came with an RX 580 though instead of the 1060. he only thing I ever upgraded for it was the RAM from 8 to 16, otherwise it's crazy how good it was for the price I got it at JB that it carried me for that long. Around $1600 AUD was what I grabbed it for on Black Friday Sales, 2017. Doesn't feel that long ago, yet it does. 2017 was truly a great year.

That CPU is a beast of a machine renders like anything I have thrown at it in record time. I also upgraded my family's PC from a i5 4600k to 1st Gen 1700 CPU. the 1700x was a beast of a CPU. That thing demolished every task I threw at it, even when my PC was pulling double duty as a minecraft server. It even still holds up today. When I upgraded to a 5900x last year, I repurposed the old 1700x into my sisters first gaming PC, and it's still running as strong as it was when I had it. AMD knocked it out of the park with Ryzen.

This video couldn’t come at a better time. I was having a not so good day but I couldn’t help but smile all the way through this video. Thank you, Tim ❤

Tim you should seriously consider upgrading to 3200 ddr4 dual channel you'll get more performance out of that beast with that simple of an upgrade in ram speed as the cpu will take advantage of that increased ram speed I have seen it with my old ryzen 1700x it was ok with 2400 but upgrading it to 3200 made a nice improvement to it's performance
