I don't know what it is, but there is something fascinating about Sony products. Since I was little, we've always had Sony DVDs, sound systems, laptops, PlayStations, TVs, and cameras at home. My father always said that Sony was synonymous with quality and that Triniton TVs had the best images. My mother had a Vaio laptop in 2011 that still works perfectly. Cybershot cameras were the face of family vacations, and everyone wanted to have a Sony Ericsson back then in the early 2000s. When I used these products, I felt more grown up, lol. Unfortunately, here in Brazil, where I live, Sony left the country in 2021, the "vaio" brand is sold by the brazilian technology company "positivo" . The last TV we bought was a Sony Bravia in 2018.

I wonder how they could justify releasing such a low powered pc for that price not even considering their built in apps were lagging. It also looked like that movie from 2012 was dropping frames. (i saw my currency and screamed 14,000?!)

as much as I SONY fan, and I still want one of these, I would have chosen Linux over original OS, for update features and less resource consumption :D

I would have gone with at least a 500 GB or higher SSD.

I remember these even back then I knew they would not sell but I still loved Sony for making so many of these quirky devices. Sad day when Sony sold off VAIO and I think now all they do is laptops and tablets

The B roll shots starting at 5:42 are perfect, the best is 5:52 - that's some top tier cinematography.

I'd take a Vaio with the instant-on mode as it's sole OS; as a whole portable media player that plays friendly with all sorts of input and codecs. Heck, if I had this device, I can see myself using that mode exclusively. the crossbar media is so underrated as a file navigation, imo

I wanted to sell my b550 board and 32gb of ram, but after seeing these for $8 on the used market, I think I might build myself a Bazzite system for retro gaming and streaming games from PC to TV.

Im enjoying my retrotink 4k on my 65 inch oled watching 1080p blurays upscaled to 4k with scanlines, injected HDR, and black frame insertion. It essentially answers the question of what if 4k crts were made. It also masks cg affects standing out to blend them in better thus creating a more immersive experience when watching movies.

Outer is magic but inside it was underwhelming product. Single core processor cant stand overwhelming dimensions of the display matrix (1600x900), and with such small sizes of it you cant really see a text in the OS, and this coupled with slow 1.8 hard disk. I had box complete with carrying case and special cables and other things but never understood for what purpose it was built. I do like the size and form factor and overall cuteness but thats it. Stuttering playback is not the fault of Vista but the fault of shitty CPU Sony put in, Vista never was for ultra portables. Thats why my VAIO P was always running WinXP.

I couldn't even get the fortune to have one of those back then; excellent video.
