Welcome to another weekly chat / stream of consciousness session where I talk softly about a variety of topics such as those of us who use the mouse a lot and a simple solution to avoid Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, my first tick bite ever & bugs in general, thoughts surrounding the purpose of organisms, and once again trying to solve the puzzling nature of life in modern society and its many ethical and moral complexities.

You've made depression so much more bearable. You have become such an amazing addition to my nightly routine, Uncle ER. Wado, I cannot express how much you've helped me. And when it comes to hunting - as a Native American woman who grew up in the Cherokee Nation capital - Hunting to provide for the community is a BIG part of why hunting appeals to me, after all these years. Feeding your family, neighbors, friends - it is an amazing feeling. And you don't risk disrespecting the animal you killed. Because that animal died for a reason, and everything that could be put to use - was put to use. Though I would never hunt just to needlessly end life.

My solution for carpal tunnel/wrist pain is a trackball mouse, and I'm always happy to recommend that people give them a try! I've got a finger ball mouse (moved with my pointer/middle fingers), but I used to use a thumb ball mouse as well, and both have been less straining on my wrist than a traditional mouse. I think a lot of the wrist strain comes from picking up the mouse to recenter it's position in games, and that just doesn't happen with a trackball. The finger mouse especially feels very natural and comfortable to use. For those worried about learning a new input device, I adjusted immediately (literally within the first 5 minutes) to the thumb mouse, and the finger one only took 2 days to get comfortable with. Most of those 2 days was because I changed my button layout; actually moving the mouse was much quicker to adjust to. This is entirely my opinion, but I believe that trackball mice are just inherently better than standard mice for 99.99% of people. Maybe if you're playing extremely high level competitive e-sports where you're concerned with saving an extra half gram on your mouse it's not the best option, but for the vast majority of people? I say give it a try next time you're in the market for a pointer device. Worst case scenario, you try it out for a few days, don't like it, and return it.

As a guitar player and avid avid gamer, I've always been afraid of carpal tunnel. My solution is to have a mouse pad with those gel bumps on the wrist, and the way I use the mouse is by just leaving the hand on that gel pad and moving the mouse by pushing it with my fingers rather than gripping it...kinda hard to explain but I can play endgame content in path of exile (which is quite the mouse-intensive game) and never be tired a bit. P.s. I'm left handed too but I love macros and my favourite mouse (the logitech G600) comes in right hand version only :(

As somebody who has been terminally online or on a computer for a variety of reasons since the dawn of my teenage years, the looming threat of carpal tunnel is one that is definitely in my near future. Hopefully I make more efforts to avoid it, since it's definitely a concern. Nice to hear even just a little bit of discussion about something that I've thought a lot about before! I've also never been bitten by a tick, thank goodness. It seems absolutely awful to me, like something out of a nightmare I'd have.

I've taken ticks a lot of times off of my body and only once had one bite me. I was 2 years old at the time and it bit me below the eyebrow. Specifically on the skin of eyelid. My mom couldn't pull it out at first cause as a kid I was terrified of tweezers going near my eye, so she waited until I feel asleep and then pulled it calmly.

Really would love to go hunting but I don’t know anyone that does it to show me how which is really important. It’s not just what equipment you need it’s also the knowledge of how to move through the forest and how to stay down wind. Then when it comes to actually shooting you need to know where when. if you do succeed you need to know how to skin and all that.

Yeah, I sometimes think that the "Original Sin" occurred when a life form first generated its fuel by killing and eating another life form. No longer taking sustenance from minerals, sunlight or non-sentient plant life, the Carnivor Organism began to eat animal flesh, even if the prey was virtually microscopic. The Prey-Predator dichotomy was created, and life since then became a vast congeries of hunter and hunted, with lasting negative effects such as terror, pain, and perpetual victimization of the prey - and sickness and starvation for the aging, ailing or incompetent hunter - even for the most cleverly camouflaged and artfully-dodging hunted creatures.

@Ephermeral Rift Another good video. I have some questions for you. These questions are for you to observe; no need to respond here. Question 1 - It is possible that you like the Native American way of life because you crave something similar to Heaven? Question 2 - Is it possible that this renewable energy you mentioned could be God? Question 3 - Is it possible that a God mixed those basic Earth ingredients together and created lifeforms? Question 4 - Does a master chef throw food ingredients together without planning or do automobiles create themselves without an engineer who designs it? Question 5 - If all lifeforms were created by accident, how did animal instincts and human conscience materialize without something programing or teaching them? Question 6 - Have scientists demonstrated in a lab and proved that at least one organism can transform into a completely different organism? Now, before you answer those things for yourself, research TIME DILATION - time constantly altering because of shift in Earth orbit, gravity, and rotation. Time dilation disproves the "theory" that the Earth is millions of years old. Scientists cannot prove that time was constant with carbon dating because of time dilation and since no scientist was not alive during those so called "millions" of years to study, which the scientific method process, it means that carbon dating and Dawin's "theory" are religions. The problem with scientists is that they don't want to state, "I don't know." Oh, and one more thing to ponder on. A human conscience has not evolved; knowledge has evolved but humans continue to make the same mistakes that other ancient generations have made.

These musings about ethics, animal agriculture and acknowledgement of cognitive dissonance are basically steps on the path of every vegan's journey. That unsettling feeling that you keep coming back to (which he does frequently in his videos) is that constant knowing in the back of your head while your programmed mind tries to deny it. "How would we feed people without factory farming"? You know exactly how. Yes life is consuming the energy of other life, but there is suffering attached to those sentient beings. We should reduce our harm as much as we practically can. We could literally prevent billions of deaths every year by just eating non-sentient plants.
