An easy way to leak test PC watercooling components without wasting hours doing it the old way by running water through the system, and just waiting for a leak to occur.

Schrader Valve NPT 1/4"
30 PSI Pressure Gauge NPT 1/4"
Bitspower Extender (10-50mm) x2
Handheld Air Pump
You can also use a floor pump if you'd like, but using a small handheld pump allows me to more easily store these things in a box when I'm not using them. I would imagine you could also use an air compressor if you have one, but the rate at which air is pumped into the system may adversely affect something (? -- I'm not really sure).
The Bitspower extenders use a BSP (G 1/4") thread, which is not NPT, and it is why I had to epoxy the pieces together (I talk about this in the video). You might also be able to use thread tape, but I prefer a more permanent solution, because if my system isn't holding air, I don't want to be left wondering if my thread tape is the cause of the leak.

Thanks. I actually made two other videos related to this same topic last year, but I never bothered to release them. Perhaps I should find that footage (I think I still have it) and release those videos. :)

Awesome video- subbed! I attempted this without the pressure meter, left it overnight, and found my first loop ever (soft tube) failed the test. Do you have any suggestion on how to find a leak without putting distilled water in my loop?

Unless I'm reading your comment incorrectly... How do you know that the test failed if you aren't able to measure the pressure since you don't have a pressure gauge?

Put a little bit of soap and water on all the fittings and try to run the preassure test again and If it's leaking you should be able to see bubbles from where its leaking but as in the video Its much easier with a manometer and you can get one really cheap.

P.S.A. someone on reddit had their reservoir crack because they went to 10 psi. go for 5 psi.

While this is a late reply, I do want to say that the pumps that we all use for PC water-cooling are capable of pushing out more than 10 PSI. So, if something broke at such a low amount of pressure, then it was likely defective from the start. For example, Alphacool states, on their site, that their radiators are pressure tested at 2 Bars for leaks. When converted to PSI, 2 Bars is about 29 PSI. While I'm sure not all PC water-cooling equipment is tested for such a high amount of pressure, a failure at 10 PSI is unexpected.

@@MiR4i I took precautions and pressure tested at 9 psi. That being said, your video was vital in helping me find 2 leaks, both from rotary fittings. Thank you. Thank you for focusing this information into one video.

why couldn't you just use a quick disconnect on your drain port with a regular in line pressure gauge? you had a great idea but you over complicated it with the Schrader Valve. also canada uses npt. also.
