Edit: Congrats to the two winners on the giveaway! Also note - there is no benefit waiting longer than the 15 minutes to check for pressure drops since a little amount of pressure drop over time is normal.

For all that is holy, please don't charge more than 0.5 bar. It is unnecessary and can potentially blow out oring seals and stress acrylic rigid tubing already in the system.

I was looking for a comment on the pressures, 1 bar on my CAR would blow boost hoses off that didn’t have a bead rolled into the end, let alone finger tight hard tubing fittings in a PC

Just did maintenance on my loop yesterday. Don't regret even a bit for buying this tester (i have the old version). I had to disassemble the pump to clean the gunk out , and it seems I haven't assembled it right the 1st time. Could be an expensive failure if not for the pressure test before refilling the coolant 😄 (for people new to watercooling , a word of advice, stay away from dyed coolants , the dye will eventually form sticky flakes and collect in tight spots , like GPU radiator fins.)
@Skkub
@Skkub 8 ай бұрын
Do you mean pastel coolants ? Or any dyed coolant ? Asking because I just bought DP Ultra red and blue. (every feedback I've read on that brand was great). Thanks : )
@phillsimons
@phillsimons 8 ай бұрын
@@Skkub i cant vouch for every brand. All i can say is ,i am not regretting using clear coolant. Imo , any dye will eventually transform in to gunk. Not a huge problem if you maintain your system frequently, can be a big problem if you dont. But still , i would keep an eye from time to time on the temps, coolant isn't the only problem, thermal paste can also degrade in a matter of months under heavy loads. Hope this helps.

Ok a little embarrassing but when I got mine there were no instructions and before I went online to get manual, I figured that you had to charge it to the "green". Which was obviously wrong. I feel a little better because I found that so many other people have done the same, and also there are videos of many builds where the youtubers do this wrong. So even though that made me feel better, it still doesn't change the fact that so many people don't know how to use this thing!!! So this is a great public service announcement snax because you have literally introduced watercooling to a new group of people and dozens and dozens have tried it for the first time because of you, and a lot of these people won't know better. So thanks

0.5 bar is max where you should pump it same on the Aquacomputer Dr.Drop and also remove the EKWB rotary fitting this can cause leaks too instead use a non rotary fitting on it.

PS ditch the rotary fitting on the EKWB pressure tester THIS can LEAK according to people experiences so even if your components are leak free you might get crazy and think its your components while in fact the sucker was the rotary fitting!. Instead use a NON rotary fitting. And only pump it up to 0.5 bar no reason to go to 1 bar.

I think it's really stupid how EK has the dial labeled .8 bar... That would mean even at maximum pressure it would still be a vacuum inside the loop... Regular sea level atmosphere pressure is 1 bar or 14 Psi, The ek dial has a maximum labeled as .8 bar or 11.6 psi.... It ACTUALLY should be labeled as " 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 "ect...

Can't afford the tester and don't need it since I also can't afford a water block for my old sapphire RX480. I did use cheap Chinese knock offs and the cheapest PETG tubing I can find for water cooling my CPU. Haven't had any problems in the 2 years since. 😊 (Living in Philippines so I guess you would understand.) Good info though and by the way, when I look at you looking down into your tester, the angle with your glasses remind me of a sweet and beautiful grandmother.

Actually I have 2 builds I'm starting to work on. One of them will be a "how to" video from start to finish and it will start all the way from the basics. I don't know if there are a ton of great "how to" videos on KZbin, I tried looking when I started and couldn't find a great one. In the meantime you can just read up where you can, go on water-cooling forums and jus absorb as much as you can and ask questions. You can always try asking questions on my channel and people may be able to answer.

@@SnaxanGaming There really isn't. Its just 20-30 min videos like quick snippets of the build, but we know thats not a comprehensive how to. It would be so lovely of you dear to show us a real video of how to REALLY break it all down. You'd def be the first to do it and i think it will bring in so many views.

As simple as i can: Get cpu or gpu blocks from Aquacomputer or Watercool stay away from EKWB blocks to many issues with their blocks ie nickel platting is poorly done many complaints on forums such as red(d)it. Always CEAN/FLUSH your radiators with DISTILLED water before use!!!! Flush your tubing as well they can have dust and other stuff inside the tubing. Check forums how to. Best radiators are Aquacomputer AMS rads or Watercool MO-RA rads they dont use solder with solder flux which can get into your blocks or pump. Best silent pumps are D5 pumps Dont use aluminum in your loop!!! Stick with brass either coated or not fittings Best soft tubing = Primochill Advanced LTR they dont leech PLASTICIZER which can gunk up blocks or get Tygon Norprene rubber tubing. Dont do hard tubing they can leak if you use the cheap acrylic hard tubing if you must use hard tubing go with acrylic glass but its harder to work with i highly recommend SOFT tubing is easier to work with. Cut the soft tubing ABSOLUTELY STRAIGHT with a tube cutter NO SCISSORS! When putting tube on fitting make sure it seals it completely around the barb/fitting hence why it is important to make a a straight cut then screw the nut. Best compression fittings imo Koolance compressions black fittings or Bitspower compression fittings. Advantage of Koolance fittings they are noob proof you can't over tighten them! There is a form of "stop" in the recessed fitting. Always check your O-rings from possible damage so inspect them on your fittings. Air test each individual component for 15 min to 30 min whole system do 1 hour to 2 hours. Best pre mix coolant try Aquacomputer Ultra or Koolance 702 clear, protects vs corrosion and biological growth. Use latex gloves to assemble your water cooling ie no bacteria etc.
