Competency-based learning reframes teacher pedagogy to offer learning opportunities that focus on the development and demonstration of specific measurable skills, abilities, and learner dispositions. The purpose is to develop the learning process and build learner agency by measuring progress and mastery instead of seat-time or through compliance-based activities.
