Good job telling people about included audio codecs. It's often overlooked. I have ALC1220 on a B450 board and it sounds great. I think if you go back to some of the older audio codecs there's the potential to lose certain features such as AEC which I swear by. I think AM5 as a whole is a bad value at this time, but again you are letting people know about the potential for 3DVcache parts and the ins and outs of the boards you went over. This is a good resource for people who are not well versed in PC hardware, but also for people like me who can't afford to have these products in hand, so we get a look at them on channels like this. Calling out the lack of value is also a plus, good job. This is a good landing spot for someone who'd like to build a new computer but isn't sure about where to start and their options. ✅
@hime-kamisama Жыл бұрын
For most people, using software is enough especially when the purpose is for gaming, you can use peace and some VST plugins, or even if you have an RTX card you can use Nvidia broadcast. It's a nice thing, however you shouldn't spend $50 more just because of better audio if that's only the difference you looked at, you can buy a $6 USB-C DAC (Apple) which is going to be better for value if you really cared about it.

Great video as usual. Love every single one of them; very informative. I'll probably stick to ASUS. My current system has a 9 years old ASUS Z-87 motherboard (with a SAPPHIRE TRI-X R9 290X GPU) , and still works like a charm (of course I can't run some games anymore). In the past I also had Asrock and Gigabyte motherboards, but of none of them lasted this long without any issues. I'm going to wait a little bit for the Ryzen 7000 X3D CPU's, and then I will probably go for the ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F (maybe with another Sapphire GPU :-)). I like the Audio on this board and I feel it's a bit more future proof than some other boards. I also don't need the excessive connectivity of a X670E board or the second GPU slot on some boards. And in general, in my personal experience the ASUS boards are more durable and stable. Numbers are important to me, but building quality even more. So yes, I am one of those ASUS fanboys :-)

Whoa Im in a very similar boat, my setup is about 11 years old and has an Asus P8P67-Deluxe with an MSI R9 280X and Ive been very satisfied with the longevity of my Asus motherboard. Ive also had my eye on an ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F (we might be spirit bros lol j/k) however Jason doesnt seem to think that PCIe 5 is a big deal at this point but Im hoping this board will future proof enough to last another 7+ years. Im still undecided about the cpu and was looking at the X3D cpu's as well but the 7900 (non X) seems to be a pretty good value now that they have launched. Even though my last GPU was an MSI I went back with an ASUS gpu this time but no matter the choices I fully expect at least 1 upgrade to the GPU and CPU in it's lifecycle and Im fine with that assuming I dont have to upgrade motherboard and RAM on top. Cheers.

The TUF is honestly not that bad... A lot of gamers out there use a USB amp for headset/microphone, so the audio drivers aren't the end of the world. 3 M.2 slots, a 10 GB USB-C and a 20 GB USB-C, and for me, personally, I'm using a USB interface for all my audio so the built in audio drivers aren't even a factor. 8+4 CPU power connectors, and one of the biggest VRM heatsinks I've seen for the price with built-in I/I shield. Not the most equipped on the USB side, but I only have two USB 3.0 peripherals I use so, again, not a big deal. Then again, only time will tell.

Always LOVE your videos. Thanks for the insights! Would be nice to see you think about us creators/productivity users out there. I'm a wedding photographer/videographer and some of the most important things I look for in a mobo is 6 sata ports (Yes, I use them all), at least 10 FAST USB ports (why are they STILL using USB 2.0?) once again, yes I use all 10, 2 USB 3.0 headers and 4 M.2 slots. What mobo would you recommend for us? I'm leaning towards the MSI MPG X670E CARBON WIFI.

Jason, what B650 or X670 board would have the least susceptibility to coil whine? Thanks.

The entry and budget levels you recommended are exactly what I had in mind to choose from as well (eventually).

Jason, do you have a spreadsheet on which chipsets have which features? I'm glad to know about the ASUS and Ryzen 7800X3D issue as that will probably be the CPU I go with.

Great video as usual. I'm looking forward to your review of the best Air Coolers for AM5. I have a Ryzen 9 7950x and want to pair it with a GIGABYTE X670 AORUS ELITE AX

I play single player games only, should I go for a 2k 120hz monitor or should I invest more in a 2k 165hz monitor?

Liking this video so it doesn't get overshadowed by the 4090 reviews. When I upgrade to a Ryzen x3D chip. I'll definitely be eyeing an Asus Crosshair Hero or the Strix (which seems to be the new Hero pricing wise).

I have been thinking of getting the Gigabyte B650 AERO G and the Ryzen 7 7700X plus the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 Ti AERO OC 16G. Just wondering if these 3 together make a good combo. The graphics card is taking a lot of my budget I am looking at this ram TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB DDR5 Ram 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz PC5-48000 CL30. If there is a graphic card that is cheaper that can get close or better performance please let me know or if there is any other changes you would make. Thank you I don’t know how to send the full list to you or I would. Thank you again

Hi Jason, thanks so much for your in depth reviews and advice. I'm putting together a reasonably priced upgrade to my pc by selecting AMD Ryzen 7600x chip and either ATX 3070 ti GPU or Radeon RX 6700 XT and a bit overwhelmed by choice in the motherboard section. Bearing in mind I don't need a pcie 5 slot, what would be a decent board that is in keeping with my pricepoint but also doesn't hinder the compatibility of my parts? Thanks in advance. Nick

I bought a Proart X570 creator the last time I built and I believe it is the best motherboard I have ever purchased . Has all off the good features and stable overclocking as well . The most I ever spent before that was in the 200 dollar range . I guess you sometimes get what you pay for ... but almost never get more than you paid for ? LoL !!

Hey. I am confused in finding a good processor. Should I go for Intel or amd 7 series processor? Ryzen 7 5800x or i712700k? Which is better for productivity? Building a budget pc.

Hi Jason, hat would be the best b650 board overall?
@ChinchillaBONK2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this! Btw, can you help clear up the confusion about AM5 supported DDR5 RAMs and at what speeds? from what i know, it seems it only supports 1DPC at DDR5 5200 speeds and if you go 2DPCs, the speeds gets reduced significantly. Also, 1DPC at higher than 5200 speeds is not very clear how it works to OC it since the actual support is at 5200 speeds.
