All in all they are still overpriced cause of the brand purely, but it'd be cool to know where you would have put it in the list. asrock is the only brand out of all these that was created specifically to manufacture motherboards. this means that if there are issues with their bios or software they're more likely to fix it quickly than brands like gigabyte that sell all kinds of products (I know asrock sells other products now too but they started as a motherboard company). i've seen so many people having issues with motherboards on reddit and asrock just seemed to be the most reliable brand on the software and stability side from what i learned

Asrock b650m hdv/m.2 definitely A tier for its price/performance . It can even handle RAM tweaking/OCs just fine like those high priced mobos bcoz of dual channel memory layout. Im running 2x16gb ddr5 6000 cl30 kingston kit at 6400mts @cl 30 vsoc 1.295v . In my region i picked it up for 118$ few weeks back XD And reg the VRMs, the Asrock b650m hdv/m.2 has DrMosfets that are way efficient than those discrete mosfets. The msi pro b650s wifi has 12+2 power phase are not DrMosfets . Those are Doubled discrete mosfets which are not good compared to those DrMosfets that i mentioned earlier. Even the Msi b650 pro m-a has 55A power stages like Asrock b650m hdv/m.2 (50A). so ya MSI b650pro m-a goes a tier above the pro b650 m-s. Asrock b650 live mixer S tier for its price/features only drawback is its availability worldwide so the Asrock b6560m pg riptide is definitely A+ tier along with b650 pg lightning So Asrock b650m hdv/m.2 is A tier (extra point bcoz of amazing memory performance) Gigabyte b650 aorus series recent revisions has been reduced their pcb layers from 8 to 6 and low loss to mid loss pcbs . So ya they are not good as asrock series boards. Earlier revisions ya A+ tier but later revisions B+ tier .Msi b650 project zero has 10+2 DrMosfets unlike b650m gaming plus fake 10+2 discrete mosfets. They are not even close . its definitely B+ tier bcoz of its price Gigabyte b650 gaming x has 8+2 Dr mosfets it's B tier (bcoz of its Price) Again gigabyte b650 eagle ax and msi b650m -p wifi has descrete mosfets (B tier bcoz of features) Msi b650m pro -a is B tier Msi b650 pro -s is C tier

I want an ATX motherboard that has modern PCIe gen 4 or 5 (not sure how much of a difference it'll make), same with NVMe slots, works out of the box and doesn't break the bank. There's so many that I eventually gave up trying. And do people still care about having 2 x separate NVMe drives, 1 for OS & 1 for games? I thought I had it figured out, but then I kept finding new info, like certain NVMe's have their own cache & people prefer those for OS. So I gave up. Glad this video can finally help clear things up!

Can anyone enlighten me on the differences between onboard audio chipsets? I know that the ALC897 is not that good, but it comes on most Asrock motherboards and as far as i know 1200+ are good, but what are the differences and how noticeable?
@sandornyemcsok41682 ай бұрын
It depends what audio device you use. First and foremost, the on-board audio only matters if you plug into the small jack connector, either on the back or front panel. Which can be speakers or analog headsets. But for speakers above 5W the on-board amplifier won't be enough, you are better to buy a dedicated (preferably external) sound card/DAC. So if you really want good audio on good speakers, do not bother about the integrated chip, buy an external DAC. It is a one-time investment that can serve you in the future builds as well, you can carry it from one system to the next one.

The Asrock B650E Taichi Lite link pulls up the ASRock B650 Pro RS WiFi AM5 AMD B650 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Motherboard. Is this a different motherboard? I tried to pull the Taichi up on Amazon and there are no sellers for it.

The one that is ranked higher lol. Which one is ranked at the top of its tier? Actually watch the segments of each of those motherboards and see why they ended up in certain spots within their tiers and you’ll see why.

Awesome effort in putting together this tier list! One thing to note that may affect one's decision is the M.2 lane sharing with the PCI-E X16 slot?

"You're welcome" - that was the most effective "please click the like button" I have ever come across. And now a 7+ word comment and sub as well. I appreciate the non-hard sell lol.

I LOVE these lists! Only request is that you try to do a little bit more ITX parts because it's really a growing segment and a lot of us are having a lot of issues finding info on ITX builds. Nice job!

Hey scattervolt, which cpu would you recommend me getting for my Rx7800xt, now that the 7800x3d is overpriced? I was looking into the 7500f, but just wondering if that's still a good buy, or if i should rather wait for a new cpu release from amd ?

When considering the power phase design of the motherboards, is the cpu Thermal Design Power taken into account? Because some CPU TDPs and even some Pro GPUs Total Board Power, comes with low power draw. I’m looking at Micro Center’s AMD 9700x (TDP 65W) bundle that comes with the Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX II. And I want to pair that with the AMD Radeon Pro W7500 that has 80w TBP, for mostly Solid Works product and industrial design (Enthusiasts) and Photoshop type digital painting. So you think that I should consider the Gaming X AX II to still be an inadequate D lister for my needs based on my parts selection and work requirements? Thanks..
@dgreen83882 ай бұрын
I've been using the Gaming X AX V2 for almost a year now with a Ryzen 7800x3d and a EVGA 3080 FTW3. I bought the MicroCenter bundle. I had zero issues installing and setting up my PC and I've had zero issues with reliability. It's a good motherboard and deserves higher than D.

Got my b650 Aorus elite AX for $90. At Microcenter in may of 2023. Everyone was panicking about the 7000 ryzens frying the motherboard because of the excessive SOC voltages. Mass returned b650 motherboards and Microcenter had so many that they pushed the price down to get rid of them. The thing was basically brand new and was like $230 at the time, got some decent 32GB ram for only $50 open box as well. Very happy with the upgrade and no issues whatsoever
