I'm planning to build a gaming PC mainly for playing strategy and simulation games like The Sims and Crusader Kings, especially because of the unique experience they offer with mods. I’m also interested in older titles like the Harry Potter EA games from the mid-2000s, Mass Effect, and Fallout 3. For games like GTA 6, Call of Duty, and racing games, I'll stick with my PS5. I see you talk a lot about frame rates, but my question is: do I really need a high-end CPU and graphics card for the types of games I’m interested in? I’ve heard that strategy games like Crusader Kings and The Sims can be CPU-intensive. Should I prioritize a powerful CPU over a top-tier graphics card for my build? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

@codedaniel8080 do you need help with the parts list?

So obviously, I was looking between the 7800 X3D and the 7950x3d. I’m thinking I’m gonna need the productivity side of the 7950 so it worked out for me. All that being said Amazon delivered it to the wrong house, they ended up refunding me the price that I paid for it, and then a neighbor knocked on my door and said that they had a couple days later. So essentially I got a 7950 for free. That being said, I feel like I’ve seen a good bit of things about the 7950 being a little more difficult than the 7800 what’s everyone’s?

I have an i7 13700k on an MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk with stock settings. With the BIOS released 08/12, I had three BSOD while installing Windows 11 Pro. The BIOS fix does not work for me, I'm AMD bound and $1000 Candadian out of pocket now due to needing a motherboard and supported RAM. Going for a Ryzen 7 7700X due to price on an MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk and 2x16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 6000MT/s CL30. Looking forward to stability with my Red Devil Limited Edition RX 7800 XT! GO TEAM RED!!

7700/7700x is probably the best bang for the buck for gaming save money to get u a 40 series gpu

If you need the extra cores, buy the 7950X3D? 🤔

Will i5 14600k be impacted by the current intel problems?
@6FootVampire2 ай бұрын
So 7600 is way better value than the 7600X since its $30 cheaper and you get a cooler with the 7600 but not with the 7600X

Lots of people will probably disagree with me but i honestly have to say the i5 12600k is a great choice as it is incredibly fast for a 300 dollar price

The flippant (but safest) answer to the titular question is surely: 'anything other than Intel'?

Are the 7700 and 7700X results flipped here somehow? Seems like the non-X is winning here in these games between the two.

So for me that I use it for gaming and engineering apps like auto cad or sketch up for renderings and school and work. You would recommend the ryzn 9 3xd

If I plan on getting the Nitro+ 7800 XT GPU is a 7800x3d CPU a good match?

I just got the 7900 GRE. I love my card. But honestly. I think if I would have went with the 7800xt I would have been JUST as happy and spent much less :). Definitely get that CPU though it's a beast! I wish I had that instead of my i9.
