I am in the front line as a first responder here in SW FL. I have never seen a storm like this. Sitting through this was scary. We are working 24/7 on care for the community and it is going to take a long time to recover. Hope everyone in my community and others are safe and takes care of one another.

It’s been so scary Dev. We’re on International Drive from the U.K. I’m devastated for all you living here in Florida. I hope and pray, people get back to some sort of normality. Thank you. There are many people that are not okay in the greater Orlando area. So many homes, apartments and senior facilities were flooded and have to be evacuated. No where near the devastation further south but life changing for sure.

I’m from New Orleans and understand completely…I had serious damage from Ida last year and was without power for almost 2 weeks…but it’s absolutely nothing compared to what those poor people in fort myers have experienced/what they’re going home to. Each day without power after Ida, I was in a miserably hot house with absolutely no gas to be had anywhere - I’m talking for hours on end in all directions…but i reminded myself on the daily how blessed i was to still have a house to sit in even without power. My heart just breaks for south Florida and anyone elsewhere who suffered serious damage, loss, etc.

I went through hurricane Maria in PR and spent 6 months without electricity. So I was worried and prepared for the worse. I live in Winter Park. A palm tree fell on my driveway and luckily my car was in the garage. My neighbor parks on her driveway and luckily the tree fell my way. I have not lost power, Internet, or cell service, so I feel lucky. I pray for those affected.

6 months wow! Where in PR do you lived? I was 24 days without power after Maria, which I consider it not that bad, since some people were like 2 months or more without power. I live in Moca, a town that's usually forgotten. It was a tough time! Now for Fiona I was 9 days without power. Gave me flashbacks to Maria... But it wasn't that bad at all.

Happy your family is ok I live East Orlando, Ian path was to pass through us we dealt with horrific winds of 115-120 mph for over 12 hours GOD IS GOOD I have no damage no missing anything from my house no flooding nothing. Communities around me are flooded they need a boat to get into there community I was born and raised here never seen anything like this so grateful everyone is doing fine🙏🏾🙏🏾

Hi Dev👋 Native Floridan here ( living in East Orlando area now). You might want to consider getting a NOAA radio. When all else fails, you can still get auto weather alerts for floods, tornadoes, hurricanes,fires and earthquakes .I used mine last night. Can't recommend it enough! I have the :Midland E+Ready radio, got it on Amazon last year. You can research and find the best for you. This one has: USB charger, AM/FM radio, weather alerts/weather radio, flashlight/SOS button, dynamo hand crank to recharge the battery , the rechargeable battery is good for 25yrs. and a solar charger too. It can charge your phone. Just thought you might want to know 👍😊 ps: love your channel 🥰

Dev, Mainer here, there are a couple of things you can to do to update your power outage game. I didn't see it but a second tank for that blackstone is a must. That coffee pot it probably 1000 watts that inverter wasn't more than 400. You can put a small pot of water on your black stone to boil water or at least heat it up and with a pour over coffee pot you can make your coffee. For light, pickup some glow sticks at the dollar store. They can last for hours and can really do a good job lighting a dark house. Also, I only one battery pack, keep an eye out, time to time you can find a cheap 20000ma battery on amazon or walmart with good reviews. Match that up with a usb led light or light tape it can really help. Stay safe

I can only imagine how scary Hurricane Ian was to get through, I live up in NH and we rarely if never get hurricanes but we do get really bad Nor’ Easter’s in the cold winter months and we can lose power for days on end. No heat and no power I know really stinks. The main thing is that you and you’re family are safe that’s the most important thing. The power will come hopefully soon for you and then things will slowly return to normal. Thanks for all the vlogs that you do , even during and extremely stressful experience like this. ❤️

We live close to Disney and we never lost power or cell service. This was our first hurricane and were well prepared as we had no idea what to expect. Plants took a beating but everything else held up. Our area was very fortunate

Glad you guys are okay and didn't have any major property damage or flooding. I'm in Winter Garden Horizon West area and thank goodness we had zero floods in my community, no power outage and very little wind damage to our home. But like you we cracked open our Blackstone as we love to cook on that thing power on or off LOL.. Always good to hear from our favorite Disney and Travel Influencer. I used to live in Oviedo and lived through a lot of hurricanes, the most intense was Charlie so I know how scary it can be but also fun while being safe! It can be stressful with no power but stay safe!
