I wonder did you have to deal with the SKIM module? I just purchased a Dakota that has multiple miss fires but no check engine light. I think the PCM has gone bad because when I rev up the engine the miss`s almost go away. I notice that the trigger voltage goes up when I rev it up using a test light like you showed.

I just had the same issue. Replaced up stream 02s and fixed it.

Why do u need to put vin?? I had did a engine swap.i put a 5.9l in my 03 daktao.i had have total five pcm from junkyard an all it does is start an turn off real fast...I don't care about the mileage or if a light comes on.i just want it to run.been working on truck for over 7 months.o the 5.9l came out of a 2000 durango.the last pcm I got is a 1999 durango .need help on what can I do

I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota 4x4. Can you tell me what module controls the transfer case motor, on the side of the transfer case? I know there is 2 modules under the hood. One on the passenger side and one on the driver side behind the fuse box and also one in the cab i think. I am having the service 4x4 light come on and even when the truck is off you can hear the transfer case motor trying to engage 4x4. From what i read it may be the transfer case control module. I just need to figure out which module controls the transfer case motor. I already tried changing out the transfer case motor also. And that didnt work. Thanks!

I have too see wires schematic and find out what power you’re transfer case motor and go from there! I will get back to you with the ℹ information...

Pete Sambolin you can even hear the 4x4 trying to engage with the switch in the cab on 2WD. I have to take the fuse out so that won’t happen.

sc K Hi..! No in Dodge Dakota you only require in that year only too change VIN number and milage ! For example in the state of NY if the milage and VIN doesn’t match will fail the state inspection!

When it comes to Engine computers you have to take in consideration if it’s California or federal emission the rest do you know engine size 4 x 4 etc. etc. but Jess!! it will work…

my local transmission shop is telling me not to go with a replacement PCM from a junkyard because they don't trust them...but I don't have the cash to pay thousands to a dealership for a new one. Do you have any experience with buying replacement PCM's online? I'm seeing some but I don't know if I should trust them or not.

mak450 Hi 👋 first I’m sorry 😐 for the feedback delay is because I’m traveling..! So don’t believe your transmission place because is all about covering there own ass ... yes you can have a junk yard computer that is with a problem! But this is the combination! Have someone that have a scanner that can flash this old computer and buy and try the PCM usually the give you 30 days warranty! And they sale it for $50 to $75 dollars! Try and if works bingo! That’s is it... but way you need a PCM and if they did all the test required..

Se de Ian situación de qué para solucionar el problema le cambiaron los reluctor de los palos de eleva! Tienes qué sacar los valve covers de los dos motores y compararse con el 2002 ...

sc K Hi! In a Jeep Grand Cherokee You required to have a 4 number digit PIN code is no way around that... if you have a friend in the parts department he can give you that pin code! But you have too make sure the ignition keys that you have for that Jeep doesn’t say Inco or ilco right know I don’t remember but keys with that logo only there machine can program them!

Hey I have the 2005 Dakota 4.7 I’ve doneTPS,IAC,MAP,EGR, all plugs and coil packs I keep getting P0300 muitliple misfires cold start idles fine but once I’ve turned off and let set for 10 minutes or so it idle rough in park once I put in gear it goes away the dealer says it’s normal and can’t find problem and every time I’ve replace a part I reset and clear codes normally is fine for 1 or 2 days than comes back if you can help I’d appreciate it man

leinadaniel cowboys !! 👋 pues quisiera saber qué códigos están en memoria! Por eso de sacar cosas del medio le desconectaría el módulo del ABS y lo trataría de recrear el mismo problema para ver si lo hace.! Depende de qué año es su vehículo ABS, TC, y transmisiones están relacionadas!

Hi Pete thanks for the quick response. it's cylinder #4 and yes it has 2 plugs per cylinder. All of the other coils are getting a signal except #4 witch is new and has also been swapped to and from other cylinders. I did a drop test to see which cylinder was misfiring. It was #4 but the coil wasn't firing like the others when being pulled.

Brendan Marschall okay 👌 so switch Coil and clear the code! If come back with the same cylinder! Then farther diagnostic required! Like for example if the same cylinder is misfire know we now is not the coil, so then w have to check for control in the coil # 4 the wire color control is DKBLU/GRAY with a regular test light connected to the battery 🔋 positive and by touching the T pin like in the video you just watched the test light should blink! Know the next coil #5 the control wire color code is DKBlue/ Yellow do the Sam Test to check and compare signal... your cylinder #1 is in the passenger side ! Then if that past the Test next is check your spark ⚡️ plug! Then next is compression in the cylinder and compare with the companion cylinder! And then last is the fuel injector and the color code for the control wire is Brown/ Tan and is the same test you did with the coil test light on the battery 🔋 positive and with a Tin connected to the control wire should blink! If is shorted injector the best way is to use an oscilloscope! But do the test and do not stress the driver by living the test light connected to much time just touched and it blinks take it out right away! Same process with the injector! Good luck 🍀👍

sc K is all a bunch of bull shit controlled by automotive nacional association and locksmith and Dealerships and make it difficult so is the particular car get stolen... but how about went you own the car that you already payed off.... what is the f problem to give you the PIN code! That’s is way not to long ago the system was hacked and they lost all the pin codes and the have to fix that problem!
