Wow thank u for sharing this information. I was of birth control and didn’t wanted anymore. I went one year without a period, after that it started to come after 6 months, then 3 months, now everything 40 days. I’m doing a lot of visits to the gynecologist, but he never explained it so good to me. I also started gaining weight after i quit the pill and was a little bit despaired but through it was because of my crazy lifestyle. It will be really good to know what can someone do about this without going on birth control again.

Have you had your iron level checked or thyroid?
@yourlovelynightmare1
@yourlovelynightmare1 3 жыл бұрын
Get a blood test ordered asap! It'll be able to test for several things that could be causing that. Low iron, thyroid issues, or one of the most common actually... Vitamin D deficiency! Most people never hear about that one but its SO common and can make SUCH a difference when helped. :) Also! With any diet you have to be VERY careful. If you're dieting AND going to the gym? Then you're expending a LOT of energy from your body. You MUST intake a lot to burn that much. Meats (I stick to lean meats like turkey and chicken) are a huge source of energy to help keep you full and energized. :) and if you're doing a no meat diet look into high protein since youre working out. Your problem could truly be as simple as not getting enough in to out out. Many people make the mistake of calorie counting too hard when calories in the face of sugars, proteins, etc mean next to nothing as long as you're active. So start with a full bloodwork lookover and check your levels and your thyroid. And if its not that maybe look into your diet and change it up a bit to include or exclude some things. Diets aren't everyone friendly. Every body is different and so is every situation. If you are experiencing issues due to your diet, it just may not be the right diet for you and you may need to do some tweaking.

@yourlovelynightmare1
@yourlovelynightmare1 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Sorry im not who you hoped to reply but hopefully i can help. :) So first of all if you're on FB, join at least 2 PCOS support groups! They are AMAZING. Filled with support, information, tips and tricks, etc. Anything you need they have it. With conception unfortunately its hard because it differs person to person. It depends on why YOU are having trouble concieveing specifically. Irregular periods, bad diet, diabetes, hormonal imbalance, not ovulating, etc. So your first step should be to get a blood pannel done ordered by your gyno. You go see them and tell them you're trying to concieve (aka TTC). They order the tests and find YOUR specific issue. Snd you kinda go from there. Most women's issue is not ovulating. Simple. If you get a period but don't ovulate you can always pasty resort to ovulation shots and then ovulation tracking with that. Most women get pregnant within 1-5 doses which is within a year or so! :) you must ovulation track to concieve because you'll only get pregnant in your fertile window. Best chance of course ON your ovulation day. Typically about 2 weeks from your last period. Tracking at home is easy once you get it down too. Theres a box of more than 60 tests online for like $20 if you're sure you ovulate because PCOS women are notorious for the test not tracking properly for them even when they seem they're working. But you can check your Basal Body Temp (BBT) with cheap thermometers online. And track your cervical mucus changes. And when its all lining up and all signs point to ovulation? Every OTHER day you TTC. Not every day, that can actually make it harder because the sperm havent had time to recuperate. :) If everything is seeming to add up on your end and you're still unable, make sure to get your partners sperm tested! Thats an important step and honesttly if I were you id get that done early just to rule it out. :) get your blood work and his sperm work. Also treat your body right! Better diet, no bad habits, and if you're trying and checking ovulation? Take prenatals. They out your body in a good spot to be when conceiving. I hope all this helped you start somewhere! I wish you well on this journey "cyster." And if you habe any questions you feel free to ask away! :) baby dust to you!

I'm so confused. I'm 32, my periods have always sucked but they do seem to have gotten worse with more pain (debilitating) as I get older. I feel like my gyno is gaslighting me. She told me my pain could only be explained by dysmenorrhea. She did a vaginal ultrasound and listed uteran and ovarian cysts and fibroids. I have very consistent periods every month, and have to call out of work for them. When they are inconsistent it's not skipping months, it'll be a week difference at most. I've noticed my hair thinning, weight gain and difficulty losing weight. She told me having children would fix it, but I'm not planning to have kids. I three BC because at my weight I'mn afraid of Blood clots and I usually get major mood issues with BC, but now I'm thinking I should take it. At this point I'll do anything to manage the pain and to lose this weight I never used to have. I was told that because my periods were always painful that PCOS is not causing the pain now and that I can't have Endo (which confuses me, wouldn't they have seen it while they were looking for PCOS?) . Also my biological mother and sister both had endometriosis and Ando , and both had hysterectomies by 35. I was still told I probably didn't have Endo. Nothing about metformin was mentioned. Maybe this is because I didn't do a blood test? Would progesterone BC help me grow my hair back and lose weight? Would my periods hurt less or is it better to just skip them? After all that, on my actual medical records they wrote that I have pcos. So I'm just lost. Is a hysterectomy a reasonable solution at my age? Or are the side effects not worth it?

I've started following the Facebook group PCOS Diet Support & 30 Day Challenge. The newest challenge (free) just started Friday, but there's still time to sign up. She gives lots of information on eating for PCOS. I find it practically impossible to lose weight, but I've followed the guiding principala of no gluten, no dairy, no soy, no caffeine, and no sugar and have lost around 25 pounds in the past 9 weeks. It's really like she said in the video not eating foods that can lead to more inflammation in the body. Carb are not bad for you. It's just eating the right carbs.

Get a new doctor IMMEDIATELY. Any doctor who only looks at your weight and fertility and say you dont have it are absolutely not good. It takes ultrasound, and blood work to test for. There are MANY smaller women with PCOS just as well as bigger women. Many PCOS women had 0 clue for many years they had it because they easily conceived as well. So please get a new doctor IMMEDIATELY to find out for sure. Best of luck!

I was diagnosed with pcos about 12 years ago because of the first two criteria, but my ultrasound didn’t show anything abnormal. I also didn’t have any problems getting pregnant. I did have the irregular/absent period, hair growth, weight gain, acne. I went on the pill, then stopped the pill and was pregnant two weeks later.

Typically one thing they look for in the ultraosunds is what they call the "string of pearls" which is a string of varying sizes of those little "cysts" mentioned in this video. Not everyone will have them. And its not super uncommon for some women to just not suffer from that part. But pco is another condition where women JUST get the cysts. PCOS varies because its the SYNDROME. Meaning all the OTHER stuff as well that comes with it. The acne, body hair, weight gain, irregular periods, hormonal issues, etc. :) hope this maybe helped you understand your SPECIFICS a bit more. And maybe i can help answer anything else. Also, my personal advice is to join at least 2 PCOS support groups on FB. They are so immensely helpful its unreal. They give so much information and are always able to help with questions as well. :3
@yourlovelynightmare1
@yourlovelynightmare1 3 жыл бұрын
Oh and also most likely the reason you suffer from the PCOS issues you do is due to abnormal hormone issues, not the cysts themselves. :) which is why it may have been easier for you to get pregnant. Starting and stopping BC can make normal women very fertile, and your ovulation days are about 2 weeks after your period anyways. So its not uncommon for most women to get pregnant shortly after stopping their BC! It regulated your hormones, which probably made your body prime fertile grounds. :3 hence gettinf pregnant so easily after stopping the BC.

@yourlovelynightmare1
@yourlovelynightmare1 3 жыл бұрын
@@jocelynoliveros5340 the sticks are unfortunately notoriously inaccurate for women with PCOS. Even when they seem like theyre working, they have a tendency to be lying or not properly tracking the ammount of LH. Do you use an app like premom that tells you a number with the stick? Or just checking to see if the line is dark? You can have false or fake ovulation and tracking it can be really hard. Im really not sure how they check for ovulation with an internal ultrasound. Thats strange. Ask them for a blood pannel. That tells you your level of LH. Which will tell you 1. If you are indeed ovulating. And 2. If that ovulation is actually a good enough LH level to concieve. Because not all ovulations are good enough LH level to actually concieve. Hope this is helpful.

I had a similar issue. Was diagnosed at 16 and then got no info. I was scared, confused, and had no clue where to start. First off yes, get a new dr if your Dr seems to be unresponsive about the PCOS issue. The ONLY way i got ANY more info was by switching docs. She immediately was like yeah lets run our tests and make sure you have it. Did some blood work, an unltrasound and bam. Definitely still had it at 20. So then she said ok no periods? Lets force you to have one see how that goes. Did more blood work before, then had the period and came back in 2 weeks to see if i would naturally ovualte. I didn't and she said ok so we're gonna keep you on these meds til youre ready to concieve, then go from there. Gave me all the info i needed about ovulation shots, etc. But a HUGE ammount of help for me personally when i had to move away from her? PCOS groups on FB! :) seriously, get in at least 2 of them. You'll learn SO much. About medications, common issues, TTC, what you should be asking for, etc.

Pco vs pcos is super simple. Pco is when you just have the little "cysts" in your ovaries, or actual cysts on them. Pcos however is the whole shoop shebang so to speak. The hormonal issues, the not ovulating, irregular periods, etc. Pco is easier to clear up and less serious. My sister had pco and she never had any issues past like 16 because she got and stayed on birth control and it caused them to go away and they just never came back. :)

Hi Lisa! Just a quick pop in here to maybe give you some help. It honestly sounds like you could have an STI. Possibly something simple like Bacterial Vaginosis (BV), or Chlamydia. Neither are as scary as they sound nor are they shameful. You should get tested for STI's first and foremost and go from there. Most STI's are easily curable and will only take a small round of medicine to clear up and you will be free of this suffering. :) best of luck to you, dear.

Anyways, I have pcos, regular periods but weight gain, facial hair, infertility. It’s annoying! Blood tests confirmed irregular ovulation. I had been through 3 rounds of clomid then took off a couple of months and ended up pregnant with my daughter a few months later on my own. It was a complete surprise! I was way overweight when I had her. When she was 2 I lost 75 lbs, and I was hoping that would jump start my ovulation since I got healthy, but nope, she’s 8 now and still do not ovulate. Yeah I need answers on how to control the bleeding if our bodies are so reliant on the bc? Like how will we ever get pregnant if we can’t stop bleeding

Ask about the mini pill. I have high BP too, so my doc said it wasn't advisable to take a combination pill. The mini pill has progestin only which is the man made form of progesterone.
