20+ yrs ago I took ezetimibe. Every morning after taking it I would get fatigue and an ache in my chest and legs. I didn't connect the symptoms to the meds at the time. Doctor did nothing. I was so bad sometimes at night with the shakes and chest tightness and told it was probably a water infection. After a particularly bad experience I again saw the doctor who called me into the surgery after every patient to check my BP. This happened in the morning and evening surgeries. Eventually I was sent to the hospital cardiac unit. The symptoms calmed down eventually and I was told never to take them again. A few hours later I twitched and shook all over like an electric shock in my chest. All statins give me fatigue and leg aches so I'm afraid that I can't tolerate them and take my chances. Was tried on nicotinic acid and when I got to the final feed to the full dose I was taken off them with stomach pain. I'm in my 70s so I haven't done too badly. Apparently I was told by my clinical pharmacist hat the reason I can't tolerate some drugs is because of my metabolism.

i agree 100% PCSK9 Inhibitors should be used more often. monoclonal antibodies are the future of pharmacological medicine. In the future if their is imagine taking one shot a month or a combination to treat different problem we could make all kinds of treatments.

They would be used more often if they didn't cost so dang much.
