You don't know me. I don't know you Starburst, but you made me so happy today. To see you summit Whitney and be so, so happy...... that put's a huge smile inside me that comes to me every time I see a notification that you have another video up here. I hope you know how much the "Starburst Army" supports you..... You are such a positive force in this crap filled world, we need an army of YOU. When you are done with the PCT, if you ever need a boost, all you need to do is go back and look at all the comments here that show you the love you have earned. You just rock.

One of the most exciting and emotional videos ever made at the PCT. When you have a difficult day, you come back here to watch it again to recover the joy it transmits, because of the passion and happiness concentrated on the top of a mountain. It shows us and reminds us, only what is most important, everything that is most important. Thank you.

Not only were you the only one atop Whitney, at that moment you were the highest person with feet on the ground in the entire Lower 48. I summited from the west side on Sunday, July 27, 1980, with my late father-in-law. We descended eastward to Whitney Portal. On the way down we met a woman -- full pack, her 18th ascent in 18 years. She was 85-year-old Hulda Crooks. It was the first time she didn't make it to the top -- too much snow on the east side. Later, the first or second needle south of the Whitney Summit (around 19:00 in your video) was named Crooks Peak in her honor. I also have a story like yours. The day before, July 26, we passed through Crabtree Meadow. Somewhere around there I saw some rocks and trees arranged in such a way the thought came to me that I would like my ashes brought there when I pass. At the time, I thought it would be one of my friends who might do the honor. As time passed and I had sons, I thought one of them might do so. It was the 10,585th day of my life. On my oldest son's 10,585th day, I was at the funeral home collecting his ashes. As Isaac Guillory sings ... It's so easy to think of the times gone by It's a hard thing to think of the times to come And the grace to accept your time as a gift Is a gift that is given to some. What can you do but work all your days Let your dreams bind your work to your play What can you do with each moment of your life But love til you've loved them away. There are sorrows enough for the whole world's end There are no guarantees but the grave And this life that I live & the time I have spent Is a treasure too precious to save. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpLKdmWsacSLj5Y

The most emotional episode so far. Brought tears to my eye twice. 1) When you talked about the guy going to spread his dad's ashes, and 2) when you were on the summit and the joy emanating from your entire body. Did the man ever reach the top to spread the ashes? Congratulations are a tremendous achievement!!!

Wow Jen! The glory is totally worth all the tribulations you are experiencing on the PCT. Loving your joy, compassion for others, and increasing vulnerability as you've gone along. Your videos have helped me claim back the adventurous part of me. My long-time fear of heights (when I was 3 years old, I fell backwards out of a treehouse) has subsided as I've walked beside you through these videos. Keep on trekking and inspiring us all. I'm healing an injury, but can't wait to get my hiking boots back on.

I agree, John... Also from, well, the north Sound area, as my KZbin ID bares out. I know at times she is struggling to keep it together, but I know also that she really appreciates our encouragement and positive comments. Yep, she's a Tiger, albeit an emotional one. BUT that's OK!!! And just a caution, 'Starburst': Don't ever feel you have to go on... just for US. I KNOW you want to make the Can border, but keep your senses, and know you limitations. Don't take this as a 'Downer"! Take it as 'Caring"! Best Wishes, SkagitEd

I agree about not wanting to do the sunrise thing. I camped at Guitar the night before & watched folks make their way up, their headlamps shining in the dark from up above. I also like the views and want to see where I am stepping while along the trail. I did leave Guitar at 4am, and that was tough enough cuz of the cold! But once I was moving, I was okay. I cannot believe you had all that time on top to yourself! That is so strange considering the weather was so nice. Congratulations on making it to the top!! Keep on truckin’! 🚚🚛🚚
