Thank you for an amazing video. Question? I have heard this is the toughest section in WA state. Is it easier to hike it sobo due to the elevation gain/ loss or nobo? I do better going down the mountains rather than up. Thank you for your advice.

"Old burnt area. Imagine in the coming years there'll be more of these" Unfortunately that's a sad truth. What shoes are you wearing? They long narrow. You shouldnt be getting blisters or swelling. How about trying the Altra Olympus 4.0? They have a nice fat toe box and 34 mm of closed cell foam. I trail angel and they're the most popular. I also have a pair and love them. By now you're probably near White Pass. Maybe hit REI in Portland once you get to Cascade Locks. Plus your current shoes will have over 500 miles on them...time for a new pair.

I'm wearing Vasques. They work well for me, I wore em all on the CDT, it's mostly a matter of too many miles without a proper ramp up. Feet are doing good now. I'm in trout lake today should be at trail days this weekend if you'll be there!
