Yes that was a nice section, real colourful one too. That was some water cache too, unsure who puts them there but in that heat they deserve a medal! Didn't realise you were section hiking the PCT and heading back to the UK but the way those feet are going sounds like a dam fine plan, cheers Alan

Going home? Why? Gonna miss Sierra? Sierra's the best part of PCT. Was this return home planned from the beginning? LA sucks, don't waste a minute there. LA's full of homeless and crime. Could rent a car in Ridgecrest and go up to White mountain? Parking lot is at 10k or so, with 14k peak. Good for getting acclimated (for Whitney?). Rest-up up there? TBH, Kennedy Meadows was a disappointment. Yes, it's a check-box. Yes, Kern river is nice after all that desert. And trail does start to get interesting after Kennedy Meadows. But, KM itself was a letdown. San Diego is a bit safer/cleaner, but not by much. Beach is better in SD, imho. Will miss your vids. Might we assume you won't be returning this year?

I was only planning a LASH and had two months off work. My goal was Campo to Kennedy Meadows, then return when I can do the Sierras in the next few years.
