Views here were comparable to the Sierra (maybe even better 🤫). A casual trip through this section would be amazing. Loved it!

That section is jaw dropping gorgeous and yes full of rocks and pikas and marmots and mountain goats. You got up close and personal with that one! You got gifted with excellent weather. And gorgeous campsites with berries! The trail definitely provides. Thanks for sharing your amazing adventures.

Wow, that's like the frosting on the cake that is the PCT. Seems so much more climactic than winding up the trail in the desert.

Yeah finishing with this was incredible, and there’s still more amazing views to come! Can’t imagine ending at Campo.

That is some cunnin' country! So, thanks to you two and travlinbeat's 16 Pass trek on the JMT I've decided I'd prefer to do the Sierras next Summer instead of Spring. I enjoy snow travel but want to enjoy the Range of Light as Muir and ya'll did. I'm thinking the lack of resupply points (SoBo from the C Gorge?) in that season would present a challenge and possibly even the snow load (being that far north). Short of sitting around Portland all Spring do ya'll have any ideas how I may make PCT progress while waiting for a Sierra Summer? Also, what day did ya'll begin from KMS? And, what day would you begin if doin' it again? Thanks for all your hard, consistent work to upload these vlogs. Don't think I could manage while on trail!
@justinhitsthetrail52254 ай бұрын
Maybe head southbound from Shasta around that time? I’m not sure though. We left KMS on June 12. It was a couple weeks after “the big melt” this year, so hiking conditions were good, but we got worse mosquitoes than normal. I think on a normal year mid June would be the best time to enter the Sierra. The later you enter the better the bugs will be though.
@HuangXingQing4 ай бұрын
@@justinhitsthetrail5225 Yeah, June-ish seems to be the consensus but I just realized another challenge: I need to finish the Desert before it heats up next year or I'll be flippin' from Canada for a anti-climax in the Mojave. I mean no offense to the lizards and snakes there but com'on! We've got up to20d above normal now so I made the wise decision to leave Temecula while waiting out the heat and returned to Sandy Eggo. Feels like SF here wif all the fog now. Oh, and the problem I think with your idea (I thought about a Fish Lake SoBo) is the resorts will be closed then and it'll resemble me tramping thru Oregon on fumes.

The two sections y’all said were your favorite…alpine lakes wilderness(followed by glacier peaks wilderness) or the Sierra Nevada Whitney/forester Pass area? Which was prettiest and which place is better hiking?
