The version with the children's choir really carries a more emotional punch. This song holds up really well over the decades.
@quixote69426 күн бұрын
This was a full live recording, not a video using the Studio Soundtrack. In the Studio version, the end chorus has a Child's Choir coming in the background singing along. It adds to the Songs nuance and deepens the meaning. Hope you feel better soon, Britt!

I was in the fifth grade in 1975, our teacher paired us up black kid/white kid and we stood before the class and sang this song. I think about that every time I hear this song. I’m so proud of my generation and the moves we made to bring the races together….with the prompting of great teachers and parents. ♥️

My favorite band in the 70's TDN, I seen the original band several times live and they put on a great shows. The three lead singers sang great harmonies. My favorite songs are Mama told me not to come, Easy to be hard, Eli's Coming, Try a little tenderness and Liar.

Hello Britt! I really do believe that you need to revisit the PDC crew who are giving you these picks for the week. If this was baseball batting averages, they would be batting .100 or less which would be considered very poor! I really can’t remember if they have recommended much of anything that remotely comes close to being PDC worthy. I have plenty of great recommendations for you that are pretty much guaranteed to be PDC worthy, but I’m not in tier that makes any recommendations, so even if I make some recommendations, it’s probably not going to get played or any attention, which I’m fine with! I can only hope someone else may possibly recommend some of the songs that I believe to be PDC worthy, make the request! Anyway good luck and I hope the PDC crew can make some good choices moving forward!

This song marked the beginning of their downfall in popularity. Way to childish compared to their early tracks. Three Dog Night live at the forum was an album everybody owned. But this song and joy to the world., Jeremiah was a bullfrog, just was to much for their fans to stomach.

Try "Try A Little Tenderness" for something sexier - or pretty much any other song by 3 Dog Night. This civil rights song was written in 1954.
