I don't understand how so many people thought that Robert might be Jon's dad when literally she just said Robert would kill Jon if he finds out about him. Why would he kill his own son with the girl he wanted to make his wife? It was obvious that his dad was not Robert.

I honestly dont get how sooo many struggle to process this (i've probably seen 50 different reactions of this moment, and at least half are completely clueless). We are told multiple times what happened to Lyanna Stark (what the history says happened to her anyway).. She was abducted, graped and killed by Rhaegar Targaryen. This is what sets off Roberts Rebellion. Well.. we find out that this is not accurate, as Lyanna is alive. We know that she was betrothed to Robert, so the child is obviously not Robert's, as she says he'll have the baby killed if he "finds out". And what other man was in her life at that time ? Just venting a bit of frustration :D

Don’t forget, prior to Season 6, we had Oberyn Martell tell Tyrion that Rhaegar left his first wife, Elia, for another woman, implying that he remarried after divorcing his first wife. Then Ser Bariston told Daenerys how so many people loved Rhaegar and that he’d sing in the streets and give money away to people, presenting us with an overall great guy and contradicts the image Robert gave us in Season 1. And we get Littlefinger telling Sansa about how he publicly showed affection to Lyanna during a tournament. All of this should’ve been enough for people to connect the dots by the time of this reveal. I’m surprised there were people who didn’t get the memo, but kudos for those who did.

Dark hair is a dominant gene. If I remember my haplogroups correct a blonde parent and a dark haired parent have a 25% chance to have a blond baby, 75% would be dark haired. You need two blonde parents to nearly ensure to have a child with blonde hair. They hinted soooo many times that Jon was a Targaryen throughout the series. The editing was superb.

Aegon VII actually. Aegon IV was called Aegon the Unworthy, who spawned the Blackfyre line. Aegon VI was Rhaegar's first son who died in the Red Keep along with his sister and mother.

@@jcharitat3002 Seriously? Imagine a story where Dany and Jon married and had twins! The combining of Stark and Targaryen bloodlines creates a line invincible and the world is ruled by their children. It's amazing people seem to forget that all Targaryen children were executed by Robert Baratheon except for the two that got away. That was a standing order from Robert even more than two decades later. Kill all Targaryens. Meaning if Jon Snow has to be protected from Robert he has to be Targaryen. As Robert probably would have forgiven any other reason under the sun for Jon's existence otherwise as he did love Ned's sister and would have wanted to preserve all that was left of her.
@trevellyann14 сағат бұрын
I don't get the few that thought Robert would be the father. Cause Robert loved (or was probably more just infatuated with) Lyanna. He planned on marrying her. He would have been overjoyed to have a son with the woman he wanted to marry. The only reason Jon would have needed to be protected from Robert was because he was fathered by one of Robert's enemies, the biggest among them Targaryens.

Okay guys. Having a passion for storytelling that causes you to pay attention to detail is something you can be proud of and appreciate about yourself, without looking down on others or thinking them stupid because their passion for the story does not match your own. Rhegar and Lyanna are mentioned several times, sure. But we get like two short scenes in which we actually see them in the entire series, and those occasional mentions are fleeting compared to everything else going on in the show. It's "obvious" to you because you engage with storytelling in a way casual viewers don't. Good for you, don't be a jerk about it. Me, I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan, love the books and the show (final seasons notwithstanding). I even play the miniature wargame. But I'm not going to look down on more casual viewers for not getting it right away. Think about every time someone else does this to you. Maybe you aren't as in shape as you'd like to be, and other people look down on those who lack the "willpower" (aka have other priorities in their life). Maybe you aren't focusing on saving money to invest in your finances (again because becoming rich isn't your goal/priority), so people look down on you for that. Don't turn things you are good at/enjoy into a value judgement about others.

I still think they're wrong tbh R+L=D Brandon+ Ashara = Jon This is Neds Shame, he's seen as this honorable guy, but he usurped his older brothers heir (jon) for winterfell and exiled his sisters daughter (Dany) the rightful queen
@jcharitat30023 күн бұрын
That makes no sense. Dany was with Viserys from the time they fled to Braavos from Dragonstone, meaning she was birthed by Rhaella Targaryen on the island. Ned was already on his way back to Riverrun at this time and had no way to make it to Dragonstone (which was blockaded by the Baratheon fleet around this time). There is a small chance that Edric Dayne could be Ned and Ashara's child (as there is some implication that they were infatuated with each other at the Tourney of Harrenhal), but Jon is definitely the son of Lyanna and Rhaegar.
@thomasbanks6413 күн бұрын
@jcharitat3002 >jon is definitely the son..... Then how come Ned never thought about rhaegar until Robert brings up Dany? Why is it "promise me, Ned" always precedes or follows a mention of Dany, including the first time in the crypts with lyannas statue and the first mention of Dany in the barrowlands? How come Neds tower of Joy dream makes him forget about fleeing north - even though he already had transportation on a braavosi ship lined up, only to stay in KL......... To try and protect Dany? Do you really think D and D were right when they told GRRM r+l=j? There's something missing, and with all the baby swaps in the current story, what's one or two more?
@jcharitat30023 күн бұрын
@@thomasbanks641 Lets try and go through this point by point. Ned supposedly only thought of Rhaegar (according to you) when Robert mentions him because he still believed that Rhaegar had r**ed his sister after kidnapping her and leading to many of his friends and some of his family dying. Plus, he'd spent so long doing his best to cement in his mind that Jon is his son, wanting to erase any similarities to Rhaegar in order to protect him. Maybe the mentions of Dany trigger his memory of Lyanna's promise because she's not that much younger than Lyanna was during the events of the Rebellion, and Ned is a man who would not suffer any innocent to be condemned for something they could not control. As for the dream and staying in KL, the dream makes him feel protective of Dany because she's pregnant, his sister died in childbirth, and she's Jon's aunt by blood. Of course he's going to be protective of her. Plus, by this point all of Littlefinger's manipulations were beginning to bear fruit and he was investigating Jon Arryn's death, as well as he got laid up by the injury from Jaime and the whole mess that Cat started. And GRRM is the one who told D and D about R+L=J, not the other way around. There's hints all throughout the text that point to it and fans have been speculating about this for years before GoT made their reveal. And yes, there's claims of baby swapping made by Varys, but lets be honest. He's hardly any trustworthy source, and it's very likely that Young Gryff (Aegon) is not even a real Targaryen. But it's not set in stone yet. Even then, GRRM has stated in the text conclusively that Dany was born on Dragonstone during the storm that wrecked the Baratheon fleet. Months after the Tower of Joy fight and Lyanna's death. There's no way that she could have been Lyanna's daughter by Rhaegar. I don't know where you got this idea, but I'm sorry to tell you that there's no way it's true.
@thomasbanks6413 күн бұрын
@@jcharitat3002 you aren't convincing me btw Would GRRM trolling D and D (and the world) by allowing them to run with r+l=j when it's obviously false be something GRRM would do?
