Haven’t had one ibuprofen in 4 mths. I have peripheral neuropathy & severe nerve spasms in my feet. My feet Are numb due to damaged nerves. Had spinal operation May 2023. Operation successful but Nerve spasms still severe. This is an incredible pain supplement. I still get nerve spasms but severity has decreased to 7/10. Reoccurrence has also decreased & I manage with just 2 Panadol. I wish everyone with chronic pain was informed about PEA & it’s amazing benefits so they can all get relief too. Best of all, it’s natural, our bodies manufacture it when we are well & there are no side effects. I purchase from Relieve Therapists, Victoria, Australia

It’s great to hear these sort of positive results! May I ask what dosage you are taking and how long it took to work?

@@EviePharmacist This is my 4th attempt to answer your questions! I will try again! The nerve spasms attack only my feet, different areas under &above the foot. The severity of the spasms lessened to 8/10 by end of 2nd week. End of 3rd week, I was amazed. Severity was 7/10 and the duration had lessened from 9-12 hrs to 6/7hrs. I was amazed. I now manage only with 2 Panadol (paracetamol) as soon as the spasms start. I no longer gasp and brace myself for the 10-15 seconds frequency. I also notice now some spasms are only 5/10 severity & last for 3/4 hrs. This absolutely works and everyone should be given the opportunity to use them for pain relief. I was taking 2x500mg ibuprofen, sometimes even twice a day, and was concerned about damaging my kidneys/liver, so researched natural pain relief and found information on PEA palmitoyethanolamide. Purchased from Relieve Therapeutics Nutrition, Switzerland with branches throughout the world, because they have 600mg capsules, which include Quercetin and Luteolin. I take 2 micronised capsules when arising, on an empty stomach. This PEA also includes Quercetin & Luteolin. The Rehabillitation hospital after my spinal operation started me with 10mg amitriptyline which did not help, but I still take them and hoping to stop these as well. Grateful thanks for your advice. I have been taking them since February 2024, 4mths now and hoping the spasms reduce even further,

For those with Fibromyalgia, I've found this has worked really well to decrease my overall, every day pain score from a resting 6-7/10 down to a 3/10. It doesn't stop my flare ups, but it does enhance the analgesic effects of my normal PRN medications. I've also noticed that my flare ups do not last as long and no where near as bad! It took a few months to notice any changes, but I'm very glad that I stuck with it. I take 1200mg daily and use THC+CBD for flare ups and I've noticed since starting PEA, the analgesic effects have become more pronounced, despite usually having a high tolerance to cannabinioids. Since PEA acts on the endocannabinoid system through the CB1 and CB2 receptors and the fact both PEA and THC are lipophillic, would the molecules aggregate allowing for better affinity to the cannabinoid receptors increasing the analgesic effects of both?

That’s so good to hear it is effective! Yes the combination of PEA/THC does appear to work that way to have a synergistic effect which means you could potentially take a lower dosage and less side effects 😃

Does this mean you smoke weed? Or are you using a THC CBD oil with no psychoactive effects? If so how expensive /hard is it to get CBS oils in Australia?
@nickzammit6304
@nickzammit6304 20 күн бұрын
@@samh-smith2931 I vape using a THC oil vaporiser cartridge. I get them prescribed by a specialist clinic for about $90-120 per cartridge, depending on the brand. These will last me around 2 weeks. It’s becoming increasingly common to get prescribed medicinal cannabis through Telehealth in Australia, and if you meet the criteria, you can be prescribed it in many forms like oils, edibles, flower (dried weed), THC cartridges and more.

Surely the 17.8 score for the codeine is somehow related to the fact that if you're well into a pain rating that requires opioid, you're "in a lot of pain" already... If that makes sense Thanks for the video I will try pea for my nerves pain sciatica annular tear bulging disc
@EviePharmacist
@EviePharmacist 20 күн бұрын
The score reflects codeine vs placebo. The score does seem a bit high considering a lot of people tell me codeine works well for them but I would say it’s the combination of paracetamol/codeine or NSAID/codeine that is more effective rather than just the codeine by itself. Good luck with PEA! Let me know how it goes 🙂

@@EviePharmacist yeah 👍 I put off codeine as long as possible for 9 months until I was in hospital with shorting nerve pain tremors in the whole body. Now I'm on indomethacin 200mg a day and codeine /paracetamol as required . I hope the pea works for me 🙂

Great video. I was so happy to find it & to share my positive experience. My only query, how long can I continue taking PEA? When will it become too much in my body?
@EviePharmacist
@EviePharmacist 3 ай бұрын
Thanks ☺️. In regard to how long you can continue to take it, most clinical studies have only been done for around 3 months. However there is anecdotal evidence of people taking it for a few years with no harmful effects. It isn’t addictive, people don’t seem to build a tolerance to it and it doesn’t appear to lose effectiveness over time. It’s always good to reassess your dosage once you get good pain control and consider reducing the dose to the lowest effective dose 🙂

Is this found in butter from cows that have been grass fed?
@EviePharmacist
@EviePharmacist 7 ай бұрын
I don’t believe PEA is found in butter however PEA is synthesized from palmitic acid which is found in butter (less so in grass fed butter). There’s no good evidence that increasing palmitic acid in your diet will increase PEA so I wouldn’t bank on it 🙂

@@EviePharmacistI will! Do you know about how long it’ll take to start working its magic?
@EviePharmacist
@EviePharmacist 7 ай бұрын
It may depend on the type of pain. For headaches it can work as quick as ibuprofen within 1.5 hours. For more chronic pain you might see results within a week but it can take 1-2 months to see the benefits. Good to try it for at least 2-3 months 🙂

@@EviePharmacist Alright thanks! I appreciate the info! I got one more quick question. Is there any negative side affects when being taking alongside CBD?
@EviePharmacist
@EviePharmacist 7 ай бұрын
@LongBeard67 Love the questions! There’s no human studies looking at PEA with CBD so we don’t know for sure however based on the way it works in the body there is unlikely to be negative side effects. Lab studies have actually shown a synergistic effect between hemp oil and PEA so whilst it’s not exactly the same, there’s a good chance that cbd may help PEA to work better.

Is there a cream version
@EviePharmacist
@EviePharmacist 5 ай бұрын
Yes you can get it in a cream! It may be hard to find as a product off the shelf but many compounding pharmacies will be able to make it up for you, although there aren’t many studies on PEA in a cream form. 🙂
