Peace Officers Memorial Day - May 15, 2024

Annual observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day, held May 15, 2024 at the City of Jacksonville Public Safety Remembrance Garden.
Jacksonville Mayor Sammy Phillips, Director of Public Safety Chief Mike Yaniero and Onslow County Sheriff Chris Thomas were featured speakers, as the community honors our fallen law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to Our Community.
This year's observance featured the Wilmington Police Department Pipes & Drums with Amazing Grace, and a 21-gun salute fire by Marines from Camp Lejeune.
The annual event coincides with the National Peace Officers Memorial Day and National Police Week.
