Furloughed since May 1st due to Covid-19, I took the opportunity to travel all over South Florida with my childhood friends and our kiddos. We needed kid friendly places to take them on the paddleboards (SUP) so I became obsessed with finding the perfect spots to safely paddle, swim & snorkel with kids, an all in one so they are happy, and we are happy, win win!! My family used to canoe down the river back in the late 70s and early 80s with the place that used to be next to Canoe Outpost, Canoe Safari. It was a very similar setup, and we loved it. I've never been camping on the river, though. We always did day trips. I might have to get the family to go on an outing. This video brings back a lot of memories.

I've been to Peace River twice. Great place to camp at. The river was low when I went. Great video!

I recommend Brownsville park if you dont mind the 2 $ fee a day also really good for those who are slightly more experienced but definitely not the best spot on the river

Btw your kids playing on those sand mounds make it look like gators were there which Can scare people off

I live here and have been on and swim in this River all the time. The Gators shy away from people. If one dosent, its because someone has been feeding it. Trust me that Gator will end up on one of our tabels as Gator bites in a great big hurry! We all love our river, great source a fun for us. Some big parties have happened on that river lol. We are also pretty protective of our river, we love for anyone to enjoy as we do, all we ask, please please please clean up after yourselves. I know anyone of us locals clean any beach we happen to use. This river has been untouched for who knows how many years. It is one of the best birding places in north America. Its like going in a spot where nature has not changed. The brakish water can throw some people off, its a chemical reaction from the mixing of salt water and the freash. Water turns a little brown. For us its just part of its beauty. I have seen porpoise as far north in the river as the Navigator restraunt. Bird island is another attraction, a certain species of white birds inhabit bird island, will turn the entire island top white in mating season. It is the only place in the world these birds mate. Its pretty cool.
