Yes, that's true. La musique unifie, brise tous les obstacles et les barrières. Comme l'a écrit un écrivain : "la musique est le véritable souffle de la vie. On mange pour ne pas mourir de faim, on écoute la musique pour s'entendre vivre"

I watch a world that is getting bigger and bigger against all odds: human rights and saving our climate and our world, I have so much hope ! I can only watch from my place at the PC, I am too old, not very healthy anymore and mostly too far away, but I live from and with this world and its music.

The music, the musicians, and the spirit of Playing for Change has been inspirational for decades now. Never has it been more clearly presented that music and the love that goes into its creation binds us all together in a way that no other art can match. We are all connected by the love that is the spring from which all music grows. It is the water 💧 to our ears and hearts 💕 that we all need for survival. We need only listen and enjoy.

An amazing array of musicians performing on the song "Biko" at 1H10. In memory of Steve Biko, one of the leaders of and martyrs of the Anti-Apartheid movement in South Africa. I recommend the film "Cry Freedom" to learn about Biko and the fight to end Apartheid.

..or read "Biko" by Donald Woods (a friend) with the 'Dedication' and 'In Memoriam' a reminder of the cost of freedom. I often wonder, in recent years, how Stephen Biko might have advanced the legacy of the struggle against apartheid for the betterment of all levels of society in South Africa. His murder was the loss of potential for an even better society than today.

Gary Clark's song moved me to tears. I have a friend who is fighting for his life as a result of Covid 19. I'm white, he's brown.....We've been friends for almost all of our lives. We did not, and at the same, we did see the difference in color. But it never bothered us. Because we didn't care then, and we still don't care. This song by Gary Clark made me realize that, still in 2022, some ignorant people, have awful prejudices about color . People all over the world.....we all bleed red blood! Nobody is superior to anybody else! One Love!

I have always dreamed that music knows no borders, I BELIEVE music transcends country and culture and can be the uniting factor for all people. We have a Folk Festival where I live that offers workshops where artists from different countries and genres are put together to work together. One of my favourites has been Gordon Grdina's Haram playing middle eastern rhythms, Las Cafeteras playing Mexican folk, roots music and Leonard Sumner singing Anishinaabe country, folk and hip hop music all coming together to blend their sounds into one big performance that brought pure joy to all of us there to experience it.

It’s a shame how many people in the XXI Century are questioning the role and importance of the UNO, which is perhaps the greatest social creation of mankind, and I gladly see how it is trying to spread its message in social media. Having said that, it is true that some of the UN bodies fall short from public expectations, such as - sadly and deservedly enough- the Human Rights Council. It’s tough to have people understand or accept that international politics are to blame.
