COCKTAIL RECIPES:
WHITE CHRISTMAS MARGARITA (serves 6)
- 1 12 ounce canned coconut milk
- 12 ounces silver (or white) tequila
- 8 ounces Grand Marnier (or orange liqueur)
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- pinch of salt
Blend in 2 batches with lots of ice. Serve in sugar or salt rimmed glasses. Enjoy!
PEPPERMINT FROTH MARTINI: (per serving)
- 1.5 ounce vodka
- 1/2 - 1 ounce kahula liqueur
- 1/2 ounce peppermint simple syrup
- 1/2 ounce heavy whipping cream
Make individually or multiply proportions into a small pitcher for a make-ahead cocktail. Each drink is 3 ounces, measured into a cocktail shaker, shaken and served immediately. Enjoy!

Just wanting to share we've been enjoying this beef stew (pulled out of the freezer, thawed and reheated) served over polenta (cook as you would cream of wheat) with lots of hot crispy pancetta on top. A couple of times I fried up prosciutto in a little olive oil and crumbled over the top as well. Scrumptious!

This is so beautiful Lisa; your Nativity scene is just lovely. I received a basic one when I got married 42 years ago, and that is the first thing to go up every Christmas besides the tree. I make a combination of Ina's and Julia's beef stew. Julia says to coat the meat in flour and sear it before you put it in the oven. I make a mix of both, and they turn up delicious every time, just like yours. Thank you!

Hi Lisa! Even as I watch this (again) it is only 2 weeks till Easter. But here in West Michigan we had snow today. After beautiful days with unseasonably warm weather. But I don't mind. Hi, I do not! They dry out and become more fragrant as the days pass, but stay quite green in color. When the season ends, so does the pine foliage and then it’s ready to be recycled.

I, too, make a beef bourguignon for Christmas dinner...the recipe comes from “A Private Collection” from the Junior League of Palo Alto. 😊 The cookbook was a Christmas gift when I taught in Denver many years ago. Come to think of it, perhaps the recipe came from your grandmother or one of her friends! Ina’s recipe is very user friendly...and I will try it this year for NYE as my family has decided they want Italian for Christmas. Thank you for the peppermint simple syrup recipe! Hooray! Love your drink recipes because I never make drinks and am quite intimidated by the thought of it. Hello Dear Marla! I highly recommend Ina's bœuf bourguignon recipe for a rich Christmas dinner. But of course your recipe I'm sure is amazing. Ina just has a way of simplifying everything! This stew, I make to have available from the freezer on cold winter nights. (Agh! I need to figure out how to pin so I can share the best way to serve out of the freezer.) But it was one of my favorite recipes to freeze when I lived alone - would make the whole pot and then portion into single serving containers as a self-care measure! Italian for Christmas dinner will be major YUM! Our family dinner tradition is a garlic plugged rib eye roast with thyme jus (from Bobby Flay,) roasted carrots, truffle mashed potatoes and green beans and shallots. It's seems to bring everyone around year after year lol! Love and Hugs xoxoxo
