One of the 4a pros is actually a *way better speaker* , because in 5 the stereo speaker is built under the display and it's not that good as in the pixel 4a. So keep that in mind if you're often listening to music via speakers.

@@marioa8164 First, it is so full of apps and features that I don't use or need. Second, having a 64 MP main camera and multi-camera setup, I was expecting to get the best looking photos, but when I compare the photos from the Pixel XL vs the ones from the S20+, the level of detail on the ones from the Pixel is better than the ones from the S20+. Third, I have been using the Pixel XL during more than 3 years, having a Nokia 7.1 as backup phone on the last 2 years; I have gotten used to the pure Android experience and I just loved it. I don't consider it a bad phone, it is just not the phone for me. And actually, I would trade my S20+ for a Pixel 5.

Great video, man! Didn't know your channel. Cheers to Japan! Onto the video: yeah, no, 4a 5G is perhaps "better" (specs and price v 4a & 5), but it is bigger. I do feel the appeal of both Pixel 4a and 5 is their controlled size. Makes them much more enjoyable to use than a huge/normal-now phone :)

The Pixel 5 may have punchier colours that are more pleasing but are different from what your eyes actually see and the pixel 4a clearly has the better quality photos, video, audio recording.

I'm struggling on which one to keep. I installed GCam 8 on the Pixel 4a, and you know what? 4a takes sharper pics than the 5. I took at least a hundred samples. Especially at 7x zoom, the difference is very noticeable. Can you check this yourself as well, if you still have both the phones?

I personally think the speaker is good ! It’s sounds like a beats pill (1st gen) if you know what I’m talking about lol It’s a little bit more bass heavy than iPhone and the high hats are high as well!

I have had a 4a for about 2yr since it first came out as headphone jack is a deal breaker (and it came out just before the 5) . But, the Gorilla Glass 6 on the 5 is tempting (only Gorilla Glass 3 on 4a), and wasn't mentioned in your vid. I have replaced my screen twice in two years, so now it costs much more than a 5; but the initial cost is when the decision is made. Headphone jack is a huge deal breaker for me. Bluetooth audio is total rubbish (and its made worse as my car has an older version), so 4a would still be the choice today because of the wired audio out.

So im the only one who thinks that the pixel 5 was well priced. Flagship these days are 1000 and up. And pixel 5 just choose to used a high midrange 765 g and cut the price to 700 which is fine. But of course I prefer the pixel 4a because it does 80 % or more of what the pixel 5 can do for half the price. P.s watching the video on my pixel 4a jeje

Very thorough review! I own these two phones and I find them phenomenal. Pixel 5 wins on almost everything, if there's one thing the 4a is definitely better at, that's the speaker sound quality and volume. Didn't know about the differences in HDR rendition! Maybe it's just a software feature which may be implemented in the 4a porting the 5's camera? I got my 4a for $297, couldn't be happier! Now I just have to decide if the 5 is worth over 2 and an half times my 4a's value! Also the 5 has a big problem with the gap between the screen and body because the speakers makes it vibrate to much check it out on google. Its all to much for me to pay 720euro for it while i can buy a 4a for 300 and just upgrade to maybe a pixel 6 next year with better speakers.. dont need 90hz dont need 5g and i like the smaller design of the 4a
