Thank you for this most informative video. I'm going to have hip replacement surgery next week. These are all the questions that I had and you answered them perfectly. I can't wait until this surgery is over and I can get on with my recovery and a normal life. Thank you again so much for this help. I will continue to follow you and I will watch this video more than once before I have my surgery so that it's embedded in my mind. You're absolutely wonderful explaining how to do things and how to avoid certain things. Thank God for you.

Sounds like a project for entrepreneur/engineer who can design/develop a better ball and socket joint which doesn't dislocate as easy? Especially with the technology we have today 9 years later.

I guess it's down to trying to create something that was designed by nature - a very tricky project.

Very sobering - I need constant reminders. I was hoping to run again. Day 6, walking with crutches since Day 1 post op - now doing 400m/day, and all the exercises they have given me. I sometimes get up off chair and almost walk unaided - feel so good, medication down to half after four days.

Please make it clear whether you are giving precautions for a posterior or an anterior hip procedure. The precautions are different for each.

How can you protect your hips from dislocation when you've had a biilateral hip replacement? Everything here is based on a single replacement.

I thank God everyday for my doctors I have some of the best specialists in the world. Medicare and Medicaid I don't know how it works in other states but I live in Seattle Washington. The governor here does a lot for the people in this state I'm glad he didn't become president and he still are governor. I haven't had my surgery yet but I'm practicing these things at home so I can get ready to get it in my head to do. Laying on my back I got to practice that a lot cuz I'm a side sleeper right or left. I'm going to get me a pillow the next thing I have to get to put between my legs like the pillow by sleeping on it's very very firm. But God bless everybody on here that's had their surgery. I've had knee surgery and shoulder surgery which is great but the knees were really the physical therapy was a trip. I had to pull back on my childhood when I used to take ballet from a Russian teacher which was stricter than strict just to get through this knee surgery physical therapy

@@gabbygirl3951 hiii gabby girl I just had an anterior right hip surgery two weeks ago. How do you feel now after two years. This video about lifetime precautions? I don’t know about that. My surgeon said there are no precautions with the anterior except in the beginning not to have the leg backward and pivot. I mean even tho he said no precautions doesn’t mean one should go crazy with the hips. Anyhow I’m still healing and recovering and using my cane, how long did it take you to walk without the cane? Btw I’m 45 years old still young for this surgery but I guess osteoarthritis affects any age these days. Ok hope you are doing better

Yeah this chick is bullshittin. These precautions are only short term. Some take day, some weeks, others take a few months until they are able to perform all these movements without dislocating their hip
@HawaiianJou3 жыл бұрын
There are only 2 precautions for anterior. One is the lunge position and the other is perpendicular feet pointing. I had hip replacement 6 weeks ago and these are the only precautions I was told. And they are temporary. I never needed aids and I was encouraged to transition off the walker onto a cane pretty quickly. Lots of PT and muscle strengthening are painful and first but over the six weeks have made movement pretty easy. The best part is after surgery all the pain was gone except for muscle pain from the surgery and working the muscles. Just a hint. Day 4 and 5 after surgery were the most painful because the pain meds wear off. But you will love the pain free walk. Relearning to walk properly has been a challenge though.
