70 years old vet here. I am at week 6 right hip replacement recovery. My VA hospital has done a steller job operating and getting me to week 6. I won't have a progress appointment for another 2 weeks. love the "tongue in cheek" yet highly informative info in this video.

Mike and Alex did a great job. 7 weeks post for me. I scared myself last week when I 'over did it' and had sore spots the next day. Good to hear that a bit of muscle soreness and using the cane for a day is not unheard of. I will be cautious from now on. Thank you.

Five was in. Unassisted in all ways now. Unfortunately! It’s nice to be served. Kidding, dependency debilitates, daily I’m building strength and “normal” has returned to her home. Discontinued meds fully at three weeks. That helped!

Im in the UK and we do these exercises straight after surgery 🧐 I'm now 4 weeks out, walking mostly unaided. Cooking, cleaning etc..Im cycling 15 mins once a day... Sitting up and down off a chair, step ups. Banded crabs. Balance exercises unaided. Though ive been a trainer all my adult life so maybe that has all stood by me. I just now need to be able to put on my own socks lol...
@nxchrys88468 ай бұрын
At 4 PO weeks I was able to put on my own socks and shoes unassisted. And most ppl regardless of location are doing these exercise right after sx.

@@cbryce9243 get a nuclear bone scan. I had my left hip done 2 1/2 years ago and still have pain in my thigh and grown. Had surgery on my right hip four weeks ago and this one feels a lot better. Go get that bone scan. Sometimes x-rays won’t show loosening or other issues.

Sorry to hear that. I am quite satisfied n grateful that my thr right side just 2 months ago went smoothly n with not much pain except for 4 days post op but it’s only for few minutes n rates it at 6. Mostly when I get up in the morning, after one week I was going out n driving after 2 weeks. I did the anterior approach. The lip hip is next. Due to severe osteoarthritis. I am 67. Recovered fast but still cautious with my movements to avoid fall/dislocation. Hope your case gets better n pain will completely go away.
@juliemclaren29813 ай бұрын
@@hoosierbaddy3052TKR is way more painful than THR (a ton of scar tissue with TKR wanting to restrict movement and you have to battle every day to break through - THR is more movement restrictive for the first 6 weeks and frustrating having to sleep on your back)
