I'm sure you guys have heard this before, and I have posted it on an old video but, please, as a paramedic (I know from the most recent podcast you respect the advice we give) do NOT carry the pups up front with you, buckled or not. it's not about them going flying it's about the fact that their little bodies cannot handle the impact of the airbag. some of my senior partners have seen some GRUESOME scenes involving animals and air bags.... and it doesn't have to be a bad accident in order for the airbag to deploy. An accident resulting in airbag deployment can happen anywhere, anytime, you guys know that. they are safest restrained in hard cover carriers. think of it the same way you think of properly restraining a child in a car seat.

@taurusjojo16 ime, (note: I am not a paramedic but I do have experience with bigger dogs, so take my advice with so much salt) having them lay down on the backseat or in the trunk (if it's one of the ones visible from the front seat, I can't remember what it's called) restrains them well, it's just a matter of making sure they stay that way! we always had trouble with our boys staying down, but that's a trainable thing.

yes. only if your dog gets aggressive or gets hurt by another dog.

What happens if they get sick? Do Doggie Daycares provide medical help?

it depends on what kind of illness and where the parents are. If the dog coughs a few times or throws up once or twice, it is written in the file and the parents are informed when they pick up the pup. If the parents are in town and something more severe is noticed parents are called to come pick up ASAP. If it's a facility that does overnight boarding and there is an ill dog who's parents are out of town, parents are called and one of the daycare staff takes the dog to the vet. some daycares will give medication that has already been prescribed, but for the most part daycares can't legally do anything medical.

I work at a doggy daycare and yes, if the dog were to get into a bad fight they should call you. If they behave badly they put them into time out or keep them out until you pick up (depending on how bad they were). If your doggy gets sick for some reason like throwing up, diarrhea, kennel cough or warts(contagious) than they would let them sit out until pick up but if it's something bad like an open wound from a fight or maybe even a seizure or something more serious then they will take them straight to their personal vet after getting conformation from the parents.
