Danny I had to laugh when you cut the bad from your peach . It reminded me of my sister in law who stopped by last year when I was cleaning my strawberries for jam she saw me cut a bad part off the strawberry and throw the good into my pot and just about died she swore that strawberry would ruin my jam. I told her that slug was not in the jam and she had eaten several jars that I have canned in the past and she was still breathing! That's one person that no longer comes by for a jar of my strawberry rhubarb jam. Now I just need about 6 more relatives to stop by and maybe I won't have to can more than I need every year!

Those are some awesome looking peaches. I use crushed up vitamin C chewables when I can my peachcots. I bought a tree that was supposed to be a 'fruit cocktail ' tree with peaches, apricots and plums on the same tree. Well, that was a joke, but that little tree has been producing small peachcots faithfully every year for near 20 years and I can them. It's a job because they are small, but man oh man they are so sweet and delicious, it's worth it.

I make peach syrup with the extra syrup when I hot pack peaches. It's delicious on pancakes. I normally do a bushel or two of peaches. So after you've cooked the peaches in the syrup, you've got a pot of peach flavored syrup. I just blend up a few peaches and add some extra sugar. I normally thicken it a little.

I had to spray my sweet potato leaves and peas with insecticidal soap and neem oil, cuz of stink bugs and grasshoppers. Nearly ate every leaf in 2 nights. I thought it was deer. I put up a fence after the first night and next day it was even worse.. That's when I discovered the bugs. They weren't just chewing holes, but devouring whole leaves down to the stem. My peach tree was covered with peaches but the last frost killed them and they shriveled up and fell off. They didn't bloom twice here.

Question on your lemon water: is that fresh lemon and how much juice to water do you use? great video Danny...you got me wanting to can. o.- Our peaches are half the size of yours but still delicious. We tend to get brown spots on them but the flesh is tasty. People don't realize the difference between fresh organic fruit and the mutant stuff you get in the grocery. My husband learned that first hand when he tasted a smaller strawberry from the quarts my Amish neighbor stopped by and sold us...vs his storebought giants that he eats (I refuse). He had to add sugar to the store bought...the Amish strawberries, though smaller, were pristine and a delight without sugar. :) Thanks for sharing.

So many are so different from their great grandparents 150 years ago that people from the same family wouldn't be able to get along today. I often teach and preach on what it is to be Hebrew (YHWH's people), not the Jewish people of today, but those that actually followed His ways as He taught. Sadly most from the time since Abraham have rejected the instructions to be holy or set apart and have learned the ways of the nations. When I talk about the 10 Northern tribes of Israel or the 2 Houses, most just don't seem to understand, yet it's right there in the Bible they claim to read. Danny, we live in a strange world where peaches and people can be as different from one another as dark is from light. I guess it's no wonder that people don't understand the words of Yeshua (Jesus) "I have come but for the sheep of the lost house of Israel." You keep saving every piece of those peaches Danny, just as Yeshua is searching for each lost sheep of the house of Israel that was divorced by YHWH, sifted through the nations and is waking up among the swine and who have decided to return to their Father's house. I bet Miss Wanda makes some awesome pies, I wish I could join you for a meal, but so much work and so little time before His return.

I had the same problem with birds this year. They were eating all of my strawberries and blueberries. I bought inexpensive bird netting from Walmart and saved my berries. Homegrown plums can be picked early to ripen on your counter, but best to allow them to ripen on tree just like a tomato for the best taste. :)
