Man, I could just listen to Jack play for hours. Honestly one of the best guitar players about nowadays. His touch and articulation on the instrument is unmatched and really makes him stand out IMO. Arguably the hardest part of playing guitar to a high level, yeah everyone can play a million notes per second and all the scales, but I don't think many can do all that and have great feel, vibrato and know how to control the instrument. Top stuff

Instead of having discovered the next great band, I think we can all say that we have discovered the next great guitarist. If you go back and watch Jack in some of his early videos, he was killing it even back then, as a young teenager. This video was really impressive. I've seen Jack play astounding rhythms and licks, but now adding to his repertoire his lead playing abilities, I can see he's more rounded than he's shown us so far. And on top of this, perfect tones. Perfect tones. And if all of this was done on the Dr Z, I have to buy one.

1) Boy, you really opened up a can of worms with this one. Everyone grab your keyboards, huh? 2) The best thing about this (whether you agree with the choices) is his^ playing. Very impressive. 3) Great aesthetic examples of LP, Strat, and the EVH thang (gorgeous with the pearloid buttons, etc., but don't like the choice of fingerboard cap). 4) #1 (whether off the cuff or not): Solos in Crossroads (the iconic performance of that tune). Listening to a couple of his "bad" off the cuff Crossroads solos really makes these stand out. And the fact that those solos are off the cuff (magical spontaneity) is the very thing that makes them so special. 5) Deserves to be in any Top 10: Any and all of Steve Terreberry's good solos. (Yeah, I know what you're thinking). But he's a master of technique. Don't let his comedy hijinks waylay you - he is one _very_ serious guitarist. 6) Deserves to be in any Top 10 (and wouldn't argue if someone put it as #2): Lost Paradise by Juliette Valduriez (as seen here on the U-toobz from years ago, before she changed her stage name). Why? It _screams_ pain and emotion. To make this piece of wood talk as if it were human is a very special skill.

Great choices and excellent playing! I'm surprised that Gary Moore didn't make the top ten rock solos. How about top ten electric guitar melodies? Maybe Gary Moore might make this list with "Parisienne Walkways" or "Still Got the Blues"? Maybe Santana's "Europa" might also make a "Top ten melodies" list and a Jeff Beck tune too? Maybe a category for instrumental only tunes (rather than songs (Gary Moore above))?
