When i got my Tom Anderson i had a small epiphany of what to expect in a high end guitar. It doesn't sound like an angel choir just by fondling it. However, It does sound great, looks great, plays great. It stays in tune, the neck is very stable and reliable. Electronics work great. Overall after 3 years of owning i have zero complaints and it's the guitar i pick up honestly like 99,5% of the time now just cause i know i won't have an intonation headache. I know it will feel great and probably still be in tune since last time. Got all the sounds i want. It's just a damn good guitar.

Bought my first Tom Anderson Classic S super strat in 1994. Flame Orange with swamp ash body. Maple neck with rosewood fretboard. Anderson locking tuners, Anderson tremolo bridge, two Anderson stacked single coils, and a mid high gain hum-bucker. It had the switcheroo toggle system. I still have it today and it plays and sounds just as amazing as the day it was new! I will never sell it! Played and recorded with it all these years! And I will keep enjoying it until the day it passes on to my kids! Love Tom Anderson guitars 🎸 Simply the best!

John sold me an Anderson Hollow Drop Top in Cajun Red back in 2016, and it's still my #1 guitar. While this video was being shot, he was in the back room with Roy messaging me to agreeing specs for my next one 😁, a Strawberry Shortcake Wakesurf S-type hollow droptop with 3x P90. I can't wait!

Bought a second-hand Tom Anderson Hollow Drop Top from Gamlin's in Cardiff when I was 17 (I'm 32 now). I've bought tons of other guitars over the years but nothing has come close to the TA. Just a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful instrument. It has taken me through my life as a studying musician to a professional musician. I feel very lucky to have found such a brilliant guitar. I wish I could find a good place to get it set up and maintained (to the highest possible standard, not some quick fix). Took it to a trusted, recommended luthier and really wasn't happy with the result. Ended up having to intonate it myself, some hum from the wiring (presumably) too. It deserves proper preservation and maintenance.

Why not take it somewhere with a PLEK machine to get the guitar analysed and then properly set up? A shop like Charlie Chandlers would be able to get it right for you, surely?

I have an 1990 bowling ball Pro Am that I bought in 1991 when I was 12 after mowing lawns for two years, doing countless odd jobs, and skipping out other fun stuff. Now that I'm an old fart, it's still the favorite in my collection of what's now 25 guitars, which includes two other Andersons. Tom isn't just a great builder, he's a stand up and genuinely good man.

Tom Anderson is such a great guy! I recalled back in Jan 2014, I flew from Singapore to USA for a holiday, one of the itinerary was to have a factory tour. Tom was so gracious and gave me a personal tour around his factory! I ordered my first classic s shoreline gold through my local dealer and when it arrived in 2014, it felt so light and resonant and the neck is simply amazing! Then in 2020, I ordered another Icon Classic S in 3 tone sunburst, the wood grains are insane and I love just the right amount of burst around it. Neck is amazing as usual and the whole guitar just felt great! Consistency was the word indeed! I wouldn’t hesitate to order another TA anytime again, knowing quality and workmanship is always top of their heads! I also have to mention that they reply emails super quick!

I'm a very considered buyer of guitars and I do own a number of expensive electrics. I think that videos of this nature are more likely to make me seriously consider checking out and buying a Tom Anderson guitar than the slickest ad agency or celebrity endorsement video. I like it 👍

That silver in-distress Angel body you two picked up off the rack is now in my possession, and I can say unequivocally it is an absolute beast of a guitar. Just slays. I've had many Andersons and currently own 2. Tom is the best in the business, hands down best customer service of any builder out there by a mile. I've been playing Andersons since '08 and they are the quintessential modern working guitar players instrument. All the modern features you'd want with rock solid stability. You won't find a better playing guitar out there, and I've played practically every boutique and non-boutique builder out there. Just a joy to play and sounds incredible with superior versatility. Worth every penny!

I enjoyed that! I've had an Anderson Hollow T since the mid-90's; just had a Plek and setup adjustment done on it. It's still a beautiful, great sounding and playing guitar. Nice to learn about how things work at the factory!

Thank you for this wonderful tour as I greatly admire Tom’s work. I have a 2012 short scale mahogany slab body Bulldog Special with P-90’s thats a wonderful guitar! The action is amazingly as my fingers sort of trampoline off the fretboard in an amazing way. Excellent fret work & action! 🎸

My experience with Tom Anderson guitars. I took a gamble purchasing a brand new Drop Top while already having suhrs and fender custom shops in my collection. They're significantly more expensive and you wonder, 'how much better can this be? It's just another strat style guitar which costs $7000 AUD'. Fast forward in time and it arrives at my door, I opened it and picked it up and thought 'this is why it costs so much'. They are incredible crafted guitars with the quality and finish that comes as nothing but perfection. Tom Anderson is the only boutique guitar brand I'd happily spend my money on. If you're curious, I'd suggest finding a second hand one which you can resell if you don't like it. Do not leave yourself wondering what it could be and take the risk and experience it, I rate TA guitars superior to Suhrs and PRS anyday.

When does the serial number go on? Is that at the beginning or just before it ships? In other words, when is the guitar born?

When they used a 4-bolt neckplate, the 'born on' date was hand engraved into it after final inspection. Knowing TA, it is laser etched into the back of the headstock at the last step of the process the neck alone will fit into the machine - no more than a day or two to final.

I also don't believe tonewoods influence the sound that comes out of the amp. I do believe they could influence the vibrations players physically feel that accounts for the placebo, or something. Anyway, as long as a company isn't overcharging for tonewoods (many dual as having aesthetic beauty) there isn't anything wrong with believing in them, even if that belief is false (except where maybe the guitar industry would be more sustainable if different materials were used) .
