Hike 25 of the 52 Hike Challenge AND part of the 6 pack of peaks. Todays peak, Mount Tamalpais. We got to the park at 8a, did some stretching and then started hiking at 845a. From the Pantoll we started down to Stinson, winding thru Redwoods that then opened up into beautiful ridge meadows. The fog continually rolled in and out. It was indescribably beautiful and the best hiking weather. We eventually got to Stinson, hit the bakery and took a break in the park. At 12:15pm we started back up the mountain, there were SO many stairs! We stopped to enjoy the ferns, flowers, waterfalls and moss covered trees. It was so lush and green. My knee started to act up and I was starting to feel a tiny bit nauseous.
We came up on a 10ft ladder, which took us up to another level of trail. I’m not a fan of heights, but this was actually fun.
We got back to the car at 3p. This is when we had a decision to make. I was exhausted. 3 of us hadn’t done the next part of the trail, but I had, so 3 of the Peaksters Squad took off up the mountain and I met them near the top to do the last push to the peak together.
We watched the sunset, and made our way off the peak and back to the car. I recommend this trail. The views are beautiful.
Did I do the whole Peak in one day? Nope. Do I think it matters? Nope. If there is one thing I learned from walking the Camino; you do you! Don’t worry about what others. Just worry about you. You know your body better than anyone and you must listen when it speaks to you.
I’m so grateful to hike with a group of supportive, uplifting, high vibing women!
