Peak District Bike Packing - not how we planned it.

Setting off bike-packing on our gravel bikes at 3pm on a Friday was, in hindsight, a silly idea.
But what followed was a mini adventure as we rode mainly off-road on gravel tracks and canals from the edge of Birmingham to Hartington YHA in the Peak District.
As you'll see, much of our bike-packing kit was either borrowed or bodged but we did have a giggle...which I guess is what its all about!

Mate, grt vid! That rain was biblical! Only the brave / foolish push on through that :P The bridge transition was really cool, as was the "from Birmingham, why?" from the server in the chippy.

This makes it feel like it's not just me this sort of shite happens to. Some days you just don't seem to get anywhere, and you know early on that its going to be a long, long day. Canal paths and tracks are great, but they are so slow compared to the road.

Yep, Dave helps us make us feel like we've got our shit together 😂. In fairness, his tyre wall had semi-failed at the start, so it was never going work.
