Do you have any comments about coming up on wildlife especially deer? Im keeping mine on a leash for this reason. Im afraid he would just run off ... We have a lit of deer (Kentucky)
@OriginalCyclist4 ай бұрын
It is a valid point. We do have Deer in Cannock but you don't often see them during the day. She is very good around wildlife. She ignores the wild ponies when we are running, also not interested in cows or sheep. She is a bit of a wimp around anything that is bigger than her so I don't see Deer as an issue. Squirrels are her Achilles heel 😂

It’s all good until you’re more focused on filming or your bike than controlling your dog. First three seconds of video would have seen my dog latch on to yours. Do your mtb if able to control your dog. ( holy shit dude, leash your dog, your level of not giving af about others is mind blowing. Put more time into your dog and less on yourself )

Inca is quite the lovely girl. I would be interested in seeing an update on Inca and seeing how she is as a trail dog and overall companion now at 4-and-change as opposed to 18 months. I have a seven year old vizsla as a trail dog and she really "gelled" at around 2 years. The difference between an 18 month old work in progress and what she became at around 2 was really something. I'm sure it was something similar for Inca.
@OriginalCyclist6 ай бұрын
Yeah she hit 4 last month and has calmed down a fair bit. I don't ride with her as a much as I'd like as dry conditions damage her paw pads and I worry about really muddy conditions with her eyes. She's still a bundle of energy but I do more running than riding with her now. I might do an update video, good idea ;-)
@reddogdude6 ай бұрын
You know,@@OriginalCyclist, I switched my trail activities from riding to hiking and I think that has been more agreeable for my dog as she has gotten older. It also extends our season. We’re in Florida and the heat here really limits how much of the year you can safely have your dog run with the bike. Maybe hiking can work for you guys.

@OriginalCyclist7 ай бұрын
Yeah it is holding up well. I feel very at home on it and it has taken a battering in Italy and bike parks in Wales etc and held up. Genuinely can't pick any holes in it. One bit of advice would be to get it invisd like I did as the paint is very light in colour.

I'm considering buying this bike, but it would be a big investment for me. My one concern is about the rear shock during climbs. Is there a setting inbetween fully locked out and not at all locked out? I'd prefer climbing with some give so the rear wheel stays planted, but not so much that it costs me energy from bobbing.
@OriginalCyclist8 ай бұрын
To be honest, I never use the lock out on climbs. I don't think you'll need it unless you are on a steep long fire road. Its a fabulous bike!

Same. My working cocker is 4 months. Is already off the lead when away from the road. She has had some separation anxiety from day 1. Not learned behaviour as I work from home. But at least she's stopped immediately doing the toilet when I step away from her and she can't follow. It'll be helpful in the forest though. I hope.
