Yeah it's difficult when you're head is trying to decide what needs to happen, but the science these days is that you need to eat more then you need, to get through these rides so it's perfectly ok to eat the food that you need. Respect to you for sharing your feelings and thoughts.

Love the way you discuss what your heart wants versus what your mind knows. Always advised my students the needed solution often comes from your head, after your feelings got you in trouble. Respect the head/heart balance. Not everyone is humble enough to let the solution save them.

Whenever I visit the peaks I avoid that main road in Matlock like the plague. It's a shame there's no alternative if you want to ride North; in my eyes in seems to be the busiest place in the Peaks by a long stretch due to the lack of road infrastructure. Have to visit the deli next time I am out that way - Kyle's sarnie looked yummy.

That damp cold air just bores through clothes. I’ve got an extra light rain jacket that seems to help. Only problem is it gets hot quickly so there can be lots of off and on if you’re riding rollers (ups and downs). Love this channel I always have a smile when watching.

@@amy.cycling.adventuresA gilet or any outer later that is slightly loose will be more comfortable in cold weather. The reason is that it will trap a pocket of warm air around your body and cut down on the cooling of the condensate (i.e., sweat) from your body. I have a loose fitting gilet just for cold weather and a slim fit one for summer riding, just to break the wind. I'm so impressed by your café stop food. I've been riding for 40 years and we never do that because people want to get home ASAP. We also don't have so nice places catering to cyclists.

Nice ride again. I just thought, how motorists act, when they meet a group of bicyclists. I noticed cars in line behind you. In Finland, if there's a way for light traffic, motorists expect cyclists to use bike lanes. But cyclists like more roads, since there's no walkers, runners and other slow traffic. And usually roads are in better condition.

Awww, this was a great video! Bike fit initial results, dancing, bacon butty, glorious scenery, fluffy underwear, friends. I honestly don't know the right thing to say about your head space and food to help you out, except that I believe you REALLY needed that hot chocolate and carrot cake! Making a few assumptions about your weight, how fast you cycled (on average), the time it took etc I figure the cake and hot choccy was ~600 calories and you burned 2,800 calories on the ride ie more than four and a half times MORE burned than consumed. That's massive.

Amy ... image today that you were driving to London (like you did for Pini)... you set off from Derby with a pretty much full tank of fuel... you get there, do what you need to do, but you have to get back.. and to get back, you have to put more fuel in the car. This was given to me a sports scientist who told me that so many people that go hard at a e.g Zumba class on a Monday to lose weight can only do one class a week, because they then get home and do not want to undo what. they have just done and dont re fuel. You and Kyle are burning XXXXXX calories a week and i'd guess you'd struggle to replace what you are burning and thats not good with what you have scheduled or even just doing what you do in your posts.
