Another great installment. That honesty box is Gavin Bonsall and his wife's farm. He is on KZbin too. Great guy. I really enjoyed this one Rachel. Thanks for sharing.

Nice surprise when this popped up! Great video, I had totally forgotten the great cob/ butty/ roll debate! 😂 Lathkill Dale was lovely but rough underfoot especially with the large packs, think it was the right decision to stop where we did 😊
@ramblingracheltrailtales Жыл бұрын
This was a good day on the trail. Lathkil was interesting and very scenic, probably one of the best features on this whole trail.

Chip cob, that's what most Derbyshire folk would say, some might say butty. However, if I was still living in Bristol, they'd say chip roll or bap 😁 Glad you enjoyed the walk from Biggin to Over Haddon. What a wonderful place to spend your second night 👍 xx

Thanks Patrick. I'm sure you know this section of the Peak District very well. This section was mostly flat, with the expectation of climbing up into Over Haddon. It was a good day. x

That honesty box looked amazing!! Sometime a change of plans is needed sounds like you done the sensible thing rather than looking for a spot in the dark. 😊

I haven't seen many honesty boxes in the Peak District; this was an unexpected treat but very nice. I have to admit, my diet on the trail is shocking. That's something to work on in 2024. Thanks for watching and supporting. Have a great start to 2024! x

Cannot argue with £10 a head and I think more pubs should be doing this time of thing to improve trade. Only been to Bakewell once and the market was on and we both loved it there. Absolutely love honest boxes and cake at any time is always a good idea, especially when it is followed with flapjack (no wonder I can never lose any weight). Well as I have no money I cannot serve it, nice church again mind and I am always up for a chip butty. The pub/hotel looked a bitt option that the wildcamp, especially in unpredictable weather and not a bad price for B&B. Cheers Alan

Another good'n 🙏🏼 The first time I saw an honesty box, shortly after I first started hiking, I couldn't believe it. I'm from Central London and it was a totally alien concept to me 😆😆 I had to wait for someone else to walk past so i could ask them if I had understood the "make a donation" part correctly, I felt like i was stealing something 😂😂. Absolutely love it whenever i see them now, 🫶🏻
